  Description

  UPDATE: An iron transfusion yesterday has me bouncing back :) I am still taking things slowly, though, and still need assistance here at home. I am a self-funded retiree and a novelist (book 10) about to embark on a self-publishing journey and would love any assistance at all. Now that the children are leaving the nest, I need help with house and garden maintenance. I am also working toward a BA in Creative Writing/Literature.

  We will be visiting wineries and other places of interest in my area as I am writing a tour guide book for my local area. We are fortunate to be situated at the foot of the stunning Dandenong Ranges. There are many walking trails through state & national parks and lovely gardens that we visit regularly. We also have many boutiques, art & craft galleries, farm gates, and markets dotted throughout the mountains. We like to spend a lot of time outdoors. The house needs work but I can promise a delightful homestay with peace-loving and friendly people.

  Hi beautiful people,
  This is our family home and I live here with Reuben, my 27-year-old son and his dog Gemma who is four. We are essentially looking for a solo woman/young lady to assist with a lot of different tasks: packing up and sorting items for the garage etc, running errands, cooking and cleaning, basic gardening, general household maintenance, and help with the grandchildren at times. We hope to grow vegetables and have cleared the beds but need help preparing and planting them. If you know about plant propagation, that would be handy. There's an unused inground pool that I'd like to get up and running for summer (or convert permanently to a duck pond :). The kitchen and bathroom need painting.
  
  As you can see from the photos I love all things gothic and architecture - there is always a lot of conversation at my house about good books and films as I write and will hopefully publish to screen one day in science fiction/fantasy/dystopian/apocalyptic/suspense/thriller/noir crime/ found footage etc. You might be asked to visit cemeteries and other places of interest with me to inspire my writing. And there might be the odd little book tour; we will be visiting book shops in search of more antique books. I need help with Admin: - emails, socials, research, phone calls etc. I am also setting up a website shop to sell my eBooks ...
  
  I'm hoping to create a meditation garden in the far corner of the yard but that will only be once we've hacked our way through the jungle :) Our Spanish-style home is old but very zen and homely therefore, it is a smoke, drug and alcohol-free zone (drinking wine in moderation with dinner is okay). Only positive vibes please!

  We love all languages and all words and are very keen to teach English. We also love to learn poetry and stories from other languages. The children's heritage is Italian and mine is Spanish/English/Scottish/Irish.

  You will sleep in an authentic double brass bed in a small room with ducted heating that has a built-in robe. The kitchen and bathroom are shared. We prefer a woman or young lady this time.

  We are a 10xminute walk to the train station and buses. We have all major brands within walking distance ie: Australia Post and McDonalds. Major shopping centres with cinemas, a large variety of restaurants, and other places of interest are a twenty-minute drive.
