  Description

  Hello ! This is a new educational project for children aged 7-14 in beautiful south Sri Lanka.
  
  We are looking for a passionate volunteer to join our academic team. That person will have the opportunity to help with a diverse group of talented people from many disciplines. Join us!
  
  Some info about the project:
  A new concept of education designed especially for worldschoolers, nomads and families that seek a holistic approach to education that is “outside the matrix”.
  Our goal is to infuse values that resonate with the nomadic-worldschooling lifestyle and mindset into our everyday activities, prioritizing curiosity, adaptability, and a broadened outlook as fundamental principles shaping our approach.
  
  Our curriculum goes beyond traditional learning, aims to nurture the overall growth of the kids, focusing on emotional well-being, social skills, self confidence, resilience, artistic expressions and immersion in nature.
  Our approach is rooted in Buddhist principles such as compassion, mindfulness and interconnectedness. We believe that by cultivating these qualities, children can develop into passionate and empathetic individuals.
  
  In addition, we provide the kids the space and support for their academic learning of English and Math. We take into consideration the diversity of needs and therefore, the academic aspect in the curriculum is personalized - allowing each family to take part in its own academic goals setting.

  Our paid team includes a leading educator, a youth guide, the school’s principal, a cook and a diverse group of mentors that facilitate workshops and projects for the children. This mix of expertise and nationalities creates a unique environment that blends local and foreign vibes enabling the right mood for cultural exchange

  Aide

  We are looking for a special person to join our team as an English teacher and Youth guide.
  
  Our approach is Individualized Academic learning (English and Math): Tailored learning plans for each kid according to his/hers wishes and goals and in coordination with the parents’ will. This method aims to foster a sense of ownership over the kids’ own education.
  
  So basically, we don't do frontal teaching in front of everyone like in the traditional classroom. Each child will sit and learn with his/hers own books and the teacher will offer individualized help for those in need.
  
  The English teacher and Youth guide will do tasks closely with our Main Educator, an experienced teacher who has managed a similar project in Oaxaca, Mexico - as well as with the Project's Head Director.
  
  The project will take place in a beautiful lake side neighborhood in the village of Ahangama in south Sri Lanka. The premises will be a traditional Sri Lankan house with a beautiful garden in which we will offer our accommodation. There will be a cook who will be preparing a daily wholesome lunch and a morning snack for the students and team.

  A traditional Sri Lankan house situated in a lakeside neighborhood in the vibrant village of Ahangama in South Sri Lanka. This is a perfect job for a surfer or someone who is interested in surfing as there are beautiful surf spots for all levels in the area.
  The accommodations are situated where the educational project takes place so 4 times a week the children will be there from 9 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon. The 5th day is held in a fruit farm in a next door village.
  There will be another person living in the house so the bathroom will be shared with that person.
  There will be a cook there 4 times a week who will be making a daily wholesome veggie lunch for everyone as well as a morning snack. That person will also make sure the house is clean all the time (4 times a week).
