Description
I live on a farm on lovely Wolfe Island, near Kingston, Ontario. My farm is just a few kilometres from the village of Marysville which has a lively music scene as well as some basic shops and restaurants. Big Sandy Bay is also nearby with several kilometres of beautiful beach and great swimming. As well we are a short ferry ride (free) to the city of Kingston which has movies, restaurants, music and shopping as well as many interesting historic sites.
In 2021 I started a small market garden that offers a local CSA and also serves to teach young farmers who want to learn about ecological growing, food security and sustainability. This spring I am looking for help around the farm for about two weeks - mostly with planting and seedling preparation. I also have a couple horses and there is often work to do in the barn and around the paddocks. I currently only have one trail horse, the other one is retired so there is limited opportunities to ride but my retiree always loves to be groomed and paid attention to.

I live in a century stone farm house on 50 acres of land. I am looking for help around the farm for about two weeks - mostly in the market garden, planting, weeding, harvesting but also some help on the horse side of things - tidying the barn, cleaning tack, picking up brush, etc.

Wolfe Island is wonderful for cycling as well as for walking along the shores of Lake Ontario at Big Sandy Bay. The ferry dock is 2 km from the farm. I go to Kingston fairly regularly and would also provide use of a bicycle. I work off the farm a few days per week but my schedule is quite flexible. I enjoy meeting new people and live a pretty relaxed life, though I generally get up early, so if you are a night owl, we might not be a good match!

I only spent one week with Janette which was acctually way too short. She was very kind and we did a lot of different things during the week. We went hiking, to the beach and the cinema, had sushi and she took me to her yoga classes. We had a lot of fun and I had the chance to see Kingston as well as the beautiful… read more
