Hello! We are François, Suzie & family and we are excited to welcome motivated volunteers to our project in the Magic Mountains of Portugal. If you like working hard, have dedication & skill, and are looking for an awesomely rewarding eco/permaculture living experience, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
About the Farm:
The farm is a lively place where we focus on sustainability and community living. We’re always working on enhancing our facilities, which means we need enthusiastic help in all kinds of gardening, land management, and eco building. Whether you have experience or a strong willingness to learn, your contributions will be invaluable here.
Tucked away in the mountains, our farm is a place for people who want to reconnect — with nature, with meaningful work, with other caring souls, and a simpler way of living.
Our vision is simple: to live in peace and abundance, while stewarding the land, producing healthy food and building a resilient community project. We are 5 years into it so far. If you’re motivated, open-minded, and not afraid of getting your hands dirty, you’ll feel right at home with us.
Life here follows natural rhythms. We work with the seasons, the weather, and the needs of the land & ourselves.

This is rural Portugal — quiet, beautiful, raw and authentic. You can expect:

We are not just a farm — we are a growing family project rooted in sustainability, cooperation, and caring for the land and each other. Grandparents, parents, children, and neighbors all play a part in the rhythm of life here.

We are a cross-cultural family/village group of all ages with diverse life, travel, and volunteer experiences; knowledge in permaculture, agroforestry, soil science, homesteading, eco-living, herbalism, French/world cooking, fermentation, animal husbandry, nutrition , meditation, etc.
The farm is part of a small traditional Portuguese village with a few older people still living the old way& another expat family we collaborate with who are also building up their project nextdoor.
We’re part of a vibrant international community of expats living in the region with many fun & diverse events happening regularly.
The farm also backs up to a vast mountain wilderness with pure rivers, hiking trails, and picturesque views.

Aide
What We Offer:
- Hands-On Experience: collaborate on various projects with us, gaining practical knowledge and skills in gardening, permaculture, farm management, and eco building while having a good time and enjoying the nature around us.
- A Supportive Environment: we create good team vibes and share what we have learned with volunteers. You’ll be part of a friendly atmosphere where your efforts are appreciated.
- Work/play Schedule:
We work hard together during the week, 4-5 hrs/day from Monday to Friday. This allows you to dive deep into your tasks and see the fruits of your labor which is super rewarding . Then, on the weekend we celebrate doing cool local stuff, sports, or being in natur, together or alone
This year our projects include:
- Organic vegetable gardens (planting, weeding, harvesting, composting, pruning, etc)
- Land maintenance & brush clearing for summer fire season
- Natural building and rustic renovations
- Preparing for future sheep & pig friends (fencing & shelter)
- Food prep & cooking (we take turns cooking & cleaning the shared meals)
Everything is done with care, patience, and a long-term mindset.

Hébergement
Glamping:
We provide simple but comfortable large tents, offering a unique rustic experience in the heart of the farm. Our ecological facilities include compost toilets, always-hot outdoor shower and solar shower/bath, large common space with community kitchen, lounge, and space for yoga, meditation, etc.
Great Food:
3 meals a day provided in exchange for your help. Enjoy delicious meals prepared from fresh produce grown right here on the farm. Wholesome food that nourishes body, mind and soul. We all take turns cooking and cleaning dinner each night, and volunteers often choose to prepare shared meals for lunch together too.
Fun and Recreation:
To balance our hard work, we celebrate every Friday with a fun-filled evening! Join us for games, karaoke, and good laughs as we unwind and connect as a community. It’s a fantastic way to build friendships, share stories, and create memories. We often take day trips on weekends to the river, markets & festivals hosted in our vibrant local community.
Awesome natural hang-out areas around the farm including swimming pool, hammocks, trails, creek & waterfall in the forest
