Description
We have moved!! For any of our previous helpers looking to explore a different region of france we are now living in the beautiful Haute Vienne countryside. Due to our relocation we haven't had helpers for a while, but now we are settled in our new house we are ready to host again!
Our current projects are setting up my small vegetable garden for the season (permaculture), decorating inside the house, painting the barn doors, organising the barn to properly set up the gym & cinema/gaming corner and just generally trying to get the house more organised.
You would be staying in our family home with your own room. Our helpers are a part of the family life and welcome to join us when we go out.
We have 4 dogs & 4 cats, all rescued. Also, currently several foster kittens. I am vegetarian so this is a meat-free household.
We live in a small hamlet in the Haute Vienne, it’s very quiet, but cycling distance to our local village of Saint Mathieu with a supermarket, tabac, bars & cafes. In the middle of the Haute Vienne countryside surrounded by beautiful lakes & forests.
We are very easygoing, love music, good sense of humour. I am English, but also speak French and Sky is French/British.
The help is flexible, mainly walking dogs and helping around the house and garden.
Please do not consider a stay with us if you are not an animal lover and not used to living with animals. I try to keep the house as clean as possible, but with all the animals there is an infinite supply of pet hair ;-)

The most important thing is walking the dogs and helping around the house. We have a lot of decorating to do, so lots of wallpaper stripping at the moment.

I offer 3 meals per day, mainly vegan/vegetarian.
I can take 2 people, but prefer one for financial reasons and I don’t really have enough work for 2 people.

We are in the middle of the Haute Vienne countryside, so it is very quiet here, but ideal for lovers of nature. We have bikes you are free to use to explore. There are several lakes in the area with a large one in the village with a beach & where you can also swim.

Morgane is a lovely young lady. She is very young and inexperienced, so needs clear instructions and guidance, but she was always smiling and willing to do anything asked of her. Andy & Georgia came to stay with us for 2 weeks to look after our animals while we were away for Christmas. They were fantastic at looking after our animals and kept us updated on how everything was going. What little time we got to spend together they were great fun to be around. This was my first Workaway experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better host. Vicky and her daughter are the sweetest (and Vicky is a great cook!) and we shared a lot of beautiful moments together. I felt at home everyday, and the animals are lovely.
