International theatre company looking for help with renovations, gardening, conservation projects and cleaning in Maillet, France

  Description

  Our site, set deep in the middle of France, amidst rolling green fields and lakes is home to a legendary French travelling theatre company. For over 20 years the company has used this idyllic site as their base where they have run workshops, created shows and organized festivals in their studio Theatre and trademark Big Top Tent.
  There are four buildings on site including an accommodation block for over 30 people, toilets and showers and a kitchen. The Company has been very busy touring around the world with their wonderful shows, and this year we have decided to focus on giving the buildings and grounds some much needed renovations and love. We are looking for enthusiastic, young and skilled people with a love for theatre and the arts to come and help us with some much needed cleaning, painting and gardening. You will get to meet some of the actors from the company, and maybe even look in on some of the rehearsals for our two new shows coming this year! There are also regular gigs and workshops to attend, and you will receive delicious meals and accommodation in our beautiful buildings.

  Travellers will benefit from spending time in a vibrant artistic environment in the heart of an internationally renowned Theatre Company, you may wish to attend one of the many workshops or you can improve your French and also spend time in the beautiful surrounding countryside, lakes and rivers to swim in, sample the delicious local French food and wine, and also visit the many beautiful medieval towns in the vicinity.

  The vibrant and popular little town of Herrison is just 10 minutes away by car, with bars and restaurants, a weekly market and regular cultural activities such as theatre and music. We are only two hours from Paris by train, or just an hour from the beautiful mountain town of Clermont Ferrand where there is a Buddhist temple and an airport with regular flights to France, Europe and the UK.
