Description
If you are seeking tons of fresh air, a peace and quiet atmosphere and to be well away from the stress of a city then please apply to help me out!!
After 10 years of hosting a multitude of global workawayers in Mallorca I moved to central France 3 years ago to an old farm that has two houses and two barns - all needing major renovations! Those 3 years have passed so quickly and most of the renovations to the main house are now complete - and so I can now host workawayers again!!
Right now a workawayer is needed who is strong, fit and able to assist with land clearing, log moving and shifting tons of 'stuff'; has a logical sense to assist in the sorting and organising of tools and equipment; and can assist plan the land ready for growing vegetables and preparing for a larger orchard. Any mechanical or agricultural knowledge is a bonus. Internally there is still some painting to be completed along with some furniture renovation and upcycling. You need to be happy around animals - currently 2 dogs and 5 cats need regular feeding and grooming.
I am located in the heart of the Limousin, on the edge of the Millevaches Natural Park, in a hamlet about 3.5km from the nearest village which has a small supermarket, boulangerie, bar, pharmacy, doctor, garage, post office, bookshop and small café. The area has numerous walking and cycling trails, a wealth of history, abounds in calm and peaceful nature and is noted for its cuisine built on the local produce including the famed Limousin cattle.
Being rural however, please note, the mobile signal here can be very poor, so are reliant on satellite WiFi for main communications.
I look forward to hosting loads more workawayers of all ages from all walks of life around the world - and to welcoming back many of those who stayed with us in our finca in Mallorca (the reviews below highlight just a few memories of the happy times there). I am now keen to create many more friendships worldwide.
Basically if you have common sense, a mature attitude and a willingness to help then please get in touch.

I am still getting to explore the area and so have yet to resource fully what is available locally. Limoges is the closest main city and has a delightful old centre and famous porcelain factories. The wider region was a hive of activity for the Resistance in WWII with many sites, museums and activities during the year.
If you are wishing to improve your French I have ample neighbours who are willing to chat! and the local community cafe has weekly blabla sessions.
Aide
Apart from the request as above there would be daily housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, and grooming the dogs & cats.
There can be flexibility with the days and hours volunteering but generally ask workawayers to do tasks an active 5 hr day x 5 day week; - and if there are tasks that need to be completed then an 'all hands to the pump' mentality is appreciated! Please note clock-watchers are not appreciated!
Additionally, it is asked that workawayers assist with the preparation and clearing up of dinner; and keeping their own space clean and tidy.

Hébergement
A cosy caravan gives you private space.
Three meals a day are provided; breakfast and lunch are 'do it yourself' (cereals/toast for breakfast; cold meats, cheeses, soups, salad etc. provided for lunch), whilst the main evening meal is a cooked sit-down together sociable time.
Vegetarians can be catered for easily. If you wish to share your recipe knowledge that's brilliant - it's good to experiment with cuisines around the world.
NON-SMOKERS only please.

Although public transport is limited I am happy to give lifts to local train stations so that you can explore the wider area on your days off. There are numerous walking routes close by - gentle and more strenuous!
For access to the area I am about 35 minutes from Limoges Train Station and 45 minutes from Limoges Airport.
