Max helped me with a variety of home improvement projects, including painting, plumbing, electrical, locksmithing and carpentry work. He was meticulous in everything he did and worked like a professional. He is very smart and able to figure things out when a project was new to him. He provided good ideas and suggestions from time to time.

Max was respectful of my home, but also made himself comfortable, which is what I want from my guests. We lived in great harmony.

Throughout my stay I helped Colleen with her projects to complete the renovation of her home.
I did painting, plumbing, electrical, locksmithing and carpentry work.
My room was more than comfortable as I had a king size bed with my own bathroom upstairs.

She invited me to spend the New Year with her friends and offered me the restaurant. A great experience.
I think it is important to mention that she is an EXCELLENT cook. I never went to bed hungry :D
During the days when I was free, she always tried to propose me activities to do with her. For example, we went to a flea market to buy some furnitures. It was an opportunity to go for a ride on the American roads in her super cool mini cooper. We also went to relax in cafes and restaurants many times. She introduced me to her friends with whom we had long evenings of karaoke. It was fun.

She was my first Workaway host and I'm grateful that she gave me the chance for me to come out of my comfort zone and try something different. Her home is quaint and I was able to be comfortable quickly. She is honest and knows what she wants, which I find admirable. Hope her journey of moving to Maine works out well!

The best workaway host ever!
I stayed about 2 months with Colleen and it was the best workaway experience.
Colleen is very easy-going. She was very communicative from the beginning and explained clearly what kind of work she expected from me. It was very easy to understand and very easy to do.

Colleen is very creative. Projects she does on her house are different and unique. They have their own style and vision.
Colleen also made delicious dessert for me.
Colleen and I have become good friends. We have common interests. We would go hiking, dancing, dining, movies, karaoke, beach, etc. She would take me literally everywhere and drive to places I'd never been before (although I lived in DMV area for 3 years).
Colleen introduced me to her friends.
Colleen and I would talk a lot and felt safe to share our deep feelings and stories about our lives in front of each other.

Josey was an absolute joy to host. Her skills and abilities are very diverse, and she's very competent in carrying whatever task you put before her. She follows instructions well and picks up quickly when learning new activities. She whole-heartedly embraced all the projects in which she was involved, and took the initiative to make suggestions.
… read more She wasn't simply following orders, but immersing herself into the tasks at hand with the intent of creating the best possible outcome. Her attitude to work was incredible, regardless of of the task.
Josey was also a fun, respectful, enjoyable house-mate. We spent quality time together outside of work and became good friends. She is an intelligent, highly motivated, fun, charming and interesting person.
