  Description

  We live in the beautiful Yarra Valley and are a Wildlife Shelter. We care for mainly wombats and soft release possums, kangaroos, gliders and wombats. Currently we have an enclosure that needs to be constructed due to additional housing being required.
  If you are passionate about animals and have some practical skills to assist with construction of an enclosure , reducing foliage in pre-release enclosures, cleaning current enclosures and collecting grass for wombats, this may be your workaway and we would love to hear from you. You will need to have Working Holiday Insurance.

  Workaways would be encouraged to share an evening meals with us while making their own breakfast and lunch in the caravan we provide for accommodation. Often there a visits to other wildlife shelters that require some assistance.
  Workaways can learn about wildlife care, building skills and organic gardening.
  We live in an area that have popular tourist attractions that can be explored. A car would be an advantage.

  Aide

  Helping to build enclosure for wildlife, clearing foliage from pre-release encloses, cleaning cages and feeding wombats and possums. Also working in our edible garden.

  Accomodation provided in our caravan where Workaways can prepare breakfast and lunch in the caravan while joining us for dinner.

  Public transport, the bus line is around 8 kms away. There is train line around 30 minutes away. A car would be handy for access to the beautiful little townships in the area.
