Description
I live in a 4 hectare small holding in the foothills on the Andes which I have been working for the past 30 years.
There is an organic vegetable garden and a flower garden around the house. The rest of the property is native woodland with 2 hectares of pine plantation. There is a stream at one end of the land and a small river at the other end.
We are located in an area called Mallin Ahogado, 20mins from El Bolson and 2 hours south of Bariloche.

Travellers will learn about the local lifestyle in NW Patagonia and how we live closer to the earth in tune with the seasons of the year. Wide-ranging conversations are part of the experience so we can mutually learn about each other and where we are from.

Help is welcome in the gardens and around the land and for maintenance of the property.
There is the opportunity to help with a natural construction house project that my son and friends are building.

There is a pleasant, independent small cabin available for two people. Bathroom facilities are shared with the main house. In summer, a tent is available, too.

There is the small town of El Bolson to explore and its regional craft market. The popular Rio Azul hiking trail with refuge huts is not far away. There are a few local buses otherwise. It's easy and safe to thumb a lift. And there are taxis.
We are not far from the hiking and refuge trail of Hielo Azul and the Rio Auzul valley

I loved staying at Rosies place. The cabin and garden are amazing and the help was pleasant. The work mostly included help around the garden harvesting and maintaining/getting ready for winter. Rosie is a very lovely person and i enjoyed her company very much.

We spent a month and really enjoyed ourselves and learnt a lot too! Rosie was a great host, the location is superb and the neighbours even better ! Overall we are ready to come back whenever Rosie wants us !

We had a marvellous time at Rosie's. We felt very welcome and comfortable right from the beginning. We ate lots of great food, had lots of great conversations and it was a nice area to work in. Anyone who is lucky enough to spend some time at Rosie's will undoubtedly have a wonderful experience. Thanks for everything Rosie!!

Lora and Nick were great to have around and were willing to try a variety of jobs around the place, from picking hundreds of Morello cherries, to tidying up piles of wood, whitewashing, helping finish the new wood shed! It was fun exchanging life experiences and getting to know each other together with plenty of laughs. Many thanks.
