    Description

    Hello and welcome.

If you like the country, love silly little loud dogs, and have lots of experience with horses
you could be a good fit and should love it here.
I’d like an animal-lover who can stay and help with 3 dogs and 6 horses in Newtowncunningham County Donegal Ireland.
I am a vegetarian, and provide vegetarian food only. No dead animals are to be eaten in my home.
I don't have riding school type horses for beginners, but if you are a good experienced rider you can help work with them. I would love someone who could teach me dressage and teach my horses lateral work. My colt yearling is unmanageable at the moment and I need help with him trying to get near him and teaching him to behave. My 33 year old TB needs fed and groomed daily. I have an ex show jumper 17 year old and ex endurance mare 18 they are both moody and are only for experienced horse people to ride. My Irish Draft is 14 and her daughter is 8, I’d love someone to do dressage with them.
My days off are Tuesdays and weekends those are my 3 free days to play with my horses, explore, garden, play guitar, rest. I’d love someone to help me with my guitar. Or learn some language.
It takes a week to get used to the horses and dogs so someone who wants to stay at least a few weeks is best. Watching dogs is a big part of living in my home so if dogs annoy you please don’t apply.
I work as a chiropractor Monday Wednesday Friday 11-7 and
Thursday 2-8, and like workawayers to stay with my dogs those days. I settled here from America in 1996 so I am a bit Irish too!
To get to me fly into Dublin or Belfast or Eglinton they all have buses to 2 miles from my home where I can collect you. Please don’t fly into Donegal Airport it’s in the middle of nowhere with no buses.
I live 2 miles from a bus stop and You can get buses from there to nearly anywhere.
County Donegal is lovely and scenic with beautiful beaches. Donegal is a beautiful county to explore, Glenveigh Castle and The Giant's Causeway, Bushmills, and loads of beaches are within an hour-2 bus ride from my home in Newtowncunningham. Derry is only a short drive and is a nice city to visit too. Belfast is a train ride from Derry, very scenic.
If you would like to help me drop me a line.

    Thanks Victoria

  • Aide

    Aide

Help with animals, computer, painting, cleaning, whatever...you can choose what you want to help out with, I am open to suggestions. I've gotten so much in return from workaways in the past I feel very lucky and open to suggestions. Horses can be dangerous, insurance is recommended. Im not a slave driver, I don't just do workaway to get free help. I love interacting with people from other countries and learning from them. I have hosted over 75 people from all over the world and love hearing their stories.

  • Hébergement

    Hébergement

Nothing too fancy, but the country setting is beautiful. Bedroom with a double bed. Shared bathroom with other workawayers (if any around) The shower has bad power so it’s more like a bath than a shower. I don’t use a tumble dryer so drying clothes can be tricky in the rainy winter. Vegetarian only food provided. No meat in my home please. I tried letting meat eaters come but my kitchen stunk of dead animals so now I try to host mostly vegans or vegetarians. Relaxed home with plenty of doggie fun! Cold in the winter so dress warmly. This is Ireland raingear essential, wellingtons too.

My WiFi is slow and unpredictable so you may want to have data for your phone.
