    Description

We are a couple with a dream of creating a place where nature, permaculture, creativity, and community can come together on the beautiful coast of Mexico.

Four years ago, we started this project from the ground up on a piece of land surrounded by wild nature, between the ocean and the lagoon. In the beginning there was almost nothing here, so everything had to be created step by step. We brought water and electricity to the land, built the first structures, started planting, learned new skills, experimented, made mistakes, and slowly transformed an idea into a place we can now call home.

Today, we have water, solar electricity, fast Starlink internet, and simple infrastructure, while still keeping the feeling of being immersed in nature. Life here follows a different rhythm. We wake up with the sounds of birds and the ocean, spend much of our time outdoors, and try to live more simply and consciously, connected to the environment around us.

Our project is inspired by permaculture, sustainability, creativity, cultural exchange, and human connection. It is still evolving, and there is always something new to build, improve, plant, create, or learn.

We love welcoming people who are curious, open minded, and comfortable with simple living. People who enjoy being outdoors, learning by doing, sharing knowledge, getting their hands dirty, and experiencing a different way of life.

Over the years, we have welcomed volunteers and travelers from many parts of the world through other platforms. Each person has brought something different to the project, from practical skills and creative ideas to recipes, stories, music, and friendships.

Now we are excited to begin a new chapter with Workaway and continue growing this place together with people who feel inspired by nature, community, creativity, and a simpler way of living.

    Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

Over the years, we have welcomed people from many different countries, cultures, and walks of life, creating a small international community in the middle of nature. For us, one of the most beautiful parts of this project is seeing how people who arrive as strangers can quickly become part of everyday life here.

Cultural exchange happens naturally. Through conversations, music, cooking, languages, creativity, and simply spending time together, we are constantly learning from one another. Everyone arrives with something different to share, a recipe from home, a practical skill, a song, an idea, a story, or simply a different way of seeing the world.

We love sharing what life is like on this part of the Mexican coast: the connection with the ocean and the land, the local community and traditions, and the experience of living more simply and closely connected to nature. At the same time, volunteers bring their own knowledge, cultures, creativity, and perspectives, and many of their ideas have become part of the evolution of the project.

For us, the exchange goes far beyond the hours of help. It is also about sharing meals, working together, exploring the island, spending evenings around the fire, discovering the surrounding nature, exchanging ideas, and enjoying the small moments of everyday life.

We believe that every person who spends time here leaves a little something behind m, an idea, a memory, a creation, a friendship and hopefully takes something meaningful from the experience too.

We enjoy welcoming open-minded, respectful, and easygoing people who genuinely appreciate nature, simple living, and community life. Life here is deeply connected to the environment, so we especially value people who are conscious, collaborative, independent, and happy to share everyday life with others.

After the rainy season, there is always plenty to do to bring the space back to life. We are planning to reopen and welcome guests around November/December, and we are looking for volunteers who would like to help us prepare the place for the new season.

At the moment, the main activities include cleaning and preparing the land, repainting the cabañas, building simple shade structures using natural and local materials, clearing sand and vegetation from different areas, cleaning and preparing the cabañas, doing small maintenance and repair projects, and occasionally cooking meals for everyone.

The work can change depending on what is most needed, the weather, and also your skills and interests. We love when people bring their own experience, creativity, and ideas to the project.

We especially enjoy hosting travelers, creative people, and nature lovers who are interested in sustainability, cultural exchange, learning new skills, and discovering a different and simpler way of living.

This is not a party hostel or a luxury retreat. It is a peaceful place surrounded by nature, where we try to live simply and in harmony with the environment and with each other. Life here can sometimes be rustic, sandy, hot, wild, and unpredictable — and that is also part of what makes the experience special.

Respect, communication, kindness, initiative, and awareness are very important to us. This is not only a project and a place where we welcome guests — it is also our home, and we hope the people who stay with us will feel part of it and care for it as we do.

  • Hébergement

    Hébergement

We offer simple and comfortable accommodation surrounded by nature. Volunteers stay in tents with mattresses, set within the natural landscape of the island, close to the ocean and surrounded by tropical vegetation.

Life here is much more about connecting with nature than luxury. You will fall asleep to the sounds of crickets, birds, wind, and the ocean, and wake up surrounded by greenery and open skies. The lifestyle is simple, peaceful, and rustic — perfect for people who enjoy outdoor living, sharing space with others, and experiencing a slower rhythm of life.

The exchange is around 20 hours of help per week, with 2 days off. In return, we provide accommodation and two meals per working day.

Breakfast is usually simple and nourishing, with coffee and oatmeal with fresh fruit. Lunch is a shared meal that changes from day to day. We mostly cook vegetarian food, but sometimes we also prepare fresh local fish or other dishes depending on what is available.

We like to eat together when possible, and cooking can also be part of the exchange. We appreciate volunteers who enjoy sharing recipes, helping in the kitchen, and bringing a little of their own food culture to the table.

This is a place for people who are comfortable with simplicity and understand that living in a remote natural environment means adapting to what nature and the season provide. If you enjoy waking up close to the ocean, getting sandy, spending time outdoors, and sharing everyday life with others, you will probably feel at home here.
