We have a special community here at Awaroa with 26 holiday houses and only 6 residents living permanently. Access is tide-dependent by boat, walking, or quad bike; it's very peaceful. Awaroa is a stunning location with an interesting history. The first settlers arrived in 1850 to farm, and to this day, the family runs a thriving eco-tourism business.

Aide
We need help with weeding a small vegetable garden (where we grow vegetables for ourselves), weeding & maintenance of a flower garden, and possibly some cleaning inside our house & meal prep for any shared meals you have with us. You will not be required to do any maintenance work in spaces used by paying guests on the properties.

Hébergement
We have a cottage nestled in our back garden. It has a king bed, a large fridge-freezer, a separate bathroom, and an outdoor sink with a BBQ. The cottage has a view of the garden; it's quiet and private.
Our house and the cottage are off-grid. Access to the beach is a few steps away. We will provide food for all your meals. I enjoy cooking, but may require some help with evening meals you share with us.Autres infos...
Awaroa is on an estuary, so access to our place is tidal dependent. Awaroa is a 3-hour drive from Nelson or a 90-minute scenic water taxi trip up the coast. We would meet you either on the beach or Awaroa car park. However, we recommend booking a water taxi in the first instance.
On time off, you can either walk the track/beach, swim, walk Gypsey (dog), kayak, or just relax watching the birds or the changing tide.Informations complémentaires

Gypsy (5 ans)
Gypsy is a lab/staffy cross. Gypsy is a rescue dog we adopted from Nelson SPCA one year ago. Gypsys previous owners had her chained to a fence 24/7 for 3 years, and she spent one year at the SPCA. Gypsy is very loving, gentle, loves her daily walks, treats, and food. She can be a little shy with new people.
