Crete, Greece: Cat sitter sitter and house sitter wanted to care for a cute cat crew of 10!

Must be cat lover as they are a big crew!
The cats are all rescues (or kittens of) - All very friendly and cuddly. I started rescuing cats 2 years ago and the crew grew very fast! They all live with me in my home so the house is cat crazy. They are not allowed in the bedroom though. They have a cat flap so can come and go outside as they wish.

My flat is in the mountains in tiny village. The village has a square and a small shop and 3 little kafeneons (simple greek cafe/bars).

There are 3 big rooms (including the kitchen), tiny toilet/shower, a huge wild garden with a hammock and hammock chairs.

There is a bus every day to and from the village to the beach Agia Galini (18min journey). Leaves at 7am or 11am and returns at 5.45pm (will vary on holiday days).

My kitchen has a gas bottle hob and in the living room I have a wood burner with an oven. I have no washing machine.

The bathroom is tiny and the shower isn’t the best - but there is some warm water. It is an old Greek house (not pristine and not good for people who need super clean easy spaces). I do have internet and good phone signal here though. If there’s a storm there can be a brief power cut (there was 4 last year). Sometimes the water is switched off in the village for a day. You need to be comfortable living without all the mod cons.

I have 3 grown up cats, 3 x 1 year old cats, 3 x 11 month kittens. 9 cats in total!(Assatta, Otto, Collette, Pamela, Fengari, Gwen, Angie, Dianna and Shelly

All are very playful and friendly and love love love attention.

    What is needed:
They need feeding a couple of times a day. Kittens need feeding separate wet to the adults.
But they don’t need someone here all the time - If you are out all day it’s not a problem (or even if you stayed overnight away) - they have dry automatic dry cat feeder, water and their cat flap. They don’t have any routine or really require much… just some love and feeding when you are there.

The some of the cats were born with chronic illness and so sometimes get ill. This means it is really important that the young ones eat the right food or they get bad stomachs immediately when they have the adult wet food as they have intolerances. (If they got any other illness - which they can get out here - two time a year maybe - in this case it might be that picking up medication is something that is needed from town).

Other than making sure the cats are fed and well - just enjoy Crete and the space!

They all like to sleep on the bottom of the bed at night-time (people who are happy with this will be prioritised as they don't like being shut out rooms).

Nearest airport is Heraklion or Chania (can accessed by coach - 2 coaches/buses to my village and it’s about 2 hours from the airport in total). Buses are about €8.

Please write in your message saying you have read the profile so I know you have considered this particular sit. Thanks!

Note: My flat is very pro Palestine, for trans and queer liberation and anti-sexist, abolitionist (so if that makes you uncomfortable it isn’t the best space for you).
