Description
I live in a semi-rural area just outside of Motueka (Riwaka) and need help in the garden (lots of weeding & general tidying up).
This is the perfect base to explore the area from, only 10mins drive from Kaiteriteri and 20mins from Marahau - start of the Abel Tasman National Park.
Please note: I only take 1 person at a time.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

I am originally from England, although I was born in Tanzania, and have travelled a lot and lived in NZ since 2000. Sharing stories is always a good way to learn and if you're not used to gardening you'll enjoy learning a little about that, as well as using a few tools and the lawn mower etc.

You will usually do tasks alone as I'll either be at work or doing other things around the place. I like to trust people to get the tasks done and watch the time themselves. So far no one has let me down :)
FOOD: I mainly eat a vegetarian diet but sometimes eat fish. If you would like to cook for me sometimes that would be very welcome, especially if you have traditional dishes you would like to introduce me to.
HOURS: I'm happy for you to work double your hours one day and do none the next if you want to get out and about. I am also happy for you to work less hours if you do not need to have main meals provided. eg. you could work 2.5hrs/day and have just the basics provided (tea, coffee, milk, bread, jams, cereals, etc).
Your accommodation is either in my cool VW Kombi van which is parked in the garden in the summer, or the spare room in winter. Please note the kombi van is quite small so there's really only room to lie down and sleep/read. It's not like a caravan. But it is a great little space and most people love the novelty of it.
I'm easy going, enjoy company and getting to know people and sharing experiences, but I also like my privacy and quiet time so would like people who are able to share my space respectfully. For this reason I only take 1 person at a time. I also prefer one week stays to begin with. Longer stays to be discussed once you have stayed a few days. Shorter stays are fine but min stay 3 nights.
I'm a very light sleeper so when I go to bed I'd like you to either go to the van/room too, or be happy to be quiet if staying in the lounge reading etc. This is usually around 10pm.
I'm only 5kms from Motueka but there is no public transport. I drive into town regularly so can give you a lift or get groceries if you need anything and I'm heading that way. Hitch hiking is easy enough around here too if you're comfortable with that. I also have a bicycle and helmet you are welcome to borrow.
I'm a non smoker but if you need to smoke you can smoke outside.
I have a large black and white cat, Izzy, who is friendly but quite shy. She has long hair so there is sometimes hair on the couch or chairs. If you have any allergies with pets this is not the place for you!
Look forward to hearing from you.Langues parlées

VW kombi van that's parked in the garden. It doesn't have much space but it's your own space and people usually love it. It's not self contained so you need to come into the house to use the toilet although I do have a bucket in the van with a 'seat' that you can use in the night. In the winter you will be in the spare room.
Autres infos...
The Abel Tasman National Park is about 15mins drive from here, if I'm not busy I can usually drop you off if you need a lift and you want to go walking. Also on my days off/weekends I am happy to take you somewhere if I have the energy!
