Description
My partner (Roy, 42) and I (Sanne , 42) have 3 hectares (7,5 acres). Here we grow crops for ourselves, family and friends and for our 2 lovely pigs. Also, we provide a habitat for wildlife; for us it is very important to share with all things living :)
We have a small community at our farm. Isa (26) & Robert (34) and Aniyou (35) & Luuk (25) have a caravan in the garden. And our collegue Daphne (31) often stays with us during the week for a night or 2.(She lives to far from work for daily commute.)
We all share the living room, kitchen and bathroom and have dinner together.
Besides our 2 pigs, we have 2 dogs, 3 cats, 4 rabbits and 15 chickens.
And in our garden and fields live many insects, birds (eg. owls and storks) and of course several hares.
We usually start the day by taking care of all the animals.
The remainder of the day we are mainly busy in the fields; weeding, harvesting, pruning, watering the crops, etc.
We have a greenhouse (3,5 x 9 m) where we grow seedlings and some vegetables and flowers.
(Sometimes I also have a small nursery, where I grow trees, shrubs and flowers - which I plant along our fields and along roads in the surrounding area, or sell to people passing by the farm.)
Weekly extra work includes cleaning pens, mowing the grass footpaths (maintaining a public footpath), etc.
This summer we will also work on some building and renovation projects.
For wwoofers we have a caravan and camper van in the garden, a guest room in the house (for short stay) and in the summer several tents in the meadow.
We share the livingroom, bathroom, toilet and kitchen. (A warm shower is possible, but only short, because hot water is limited!)
Our meals are mainly vegan, sometimes partly vegetarian (eggs) or with game (e.g. venison, from the deers in the forest areas where we work).
We are very flexible when it comes to food, but "normal" meat is never part of the menu! And the same goes for dairy products.
We are both independent contractors in forestry & nature conservation; planting trees, bus also cutting them down, pruning, mowing grasslands, controlling invasive exotic vegetation, building fences and bridges, etc.
And we are also active in maintaining landscape elements like pollarded willows and braided hedges.
Gardening is my hobby! I just love growing plants from tiny seeds. But you can also find me reading a book in the hammock ;)
Roy has other hobby's, like football and mtg :)
And we both enjoy hiking, visiting castles and playing bordgames!
We live near the Veluwe, the largest forest area of the Netherlands, and the IJssel, a beautiful river. So lots of options for hiking and cycling!
And there are many other activities possible, depending on your interests, like waterskiing, visiting castles, museums, markets, cities, etc.
When you stay at our farm, we ask you to work about 4 hours a day.
A morning could look like this:
8:00 feeding the animals
8:30 weeding
9:30 coffee break
10:00 harvesting vegetables
11:00 some other project, like building an enclosure, painting, fixing machines, pruning fruittrees, haying, etc.
12:30 lunch
We are very flexible with the work hours and tasks. Just let us know what you enjoy doing and what you'ld like to learn more about. We often work together a few days a week and then you have several days for yourself.
Only non-smokers or occasional smokers.

Of course we could teach you a bit of dutch... but I'm not sure if that is very useful ;) We're not really interesed in learning other languages, but we are interested in other cultures.
We also like to share our knowledge of the Dutch nature and ecosystems. We both work in forestry and we can also show you around in some of the most beautiful nature our country has.
Aide
Basically everyone is welcome to help us in any way you can. Wether you're creative, organized, strong, got 2 right hands, have perseverance and/or want to learn about our flora and fauna and help us spread this knowledge. We can easily think outside the box, so any help is welcome and we'll come up with something to do :)
I have ADD, am very chaotic and tend to hoard... and these last years things have gotten out of control. So it would be nice to have some people around to help us with tidying up! ("Does it spark joy? But yes, of course... it all does!")
Also I have many creative idea's, like making a mozaic on one of the boring, grey walls. I have all the tiles... Yet I don't have the time nor the experience for such art projects.
We also have some larger projects in mind, like building a porch, renovating the bathroom, etc.
But there is also always things to do around the house, with our organic garden and all the animals. So if you enjoy getting your hands dirty, that can be arranged!
There is a trial period, to see if you're a good match and we enjoy working together. If it is not a good match, we'll communicate it in a day or 2.

Hébergement
We have a spare bedroom. And we can provide a (large) tent (bed&matras etc. included), if you prefer to sleep outside. (We often sleep outside during the summer :))
You are welcome to use all the utilities at our home, like the kitchen, bathroom and the Wifi.
Dinner can be included (possibly vegan or vegetarian) and you can always take whatever you want from the garden.
A small supermarket is nearby (5 min. by bike).
Autres infos...
You can borrow our bikes - if you can cycle - to go sight-seeing in the area.
Local sights include the Veluwe (forest area) and the IJssel (river).
The isn't much public transport around here, but it's fairly easy to hitch a ride.
Only non-smokers or occasional smokers!
