Description
I'm Ricardo, the owner of this hostel. I was born in Sâo Miguel, Azores, and absolutely love it here! Over the first 3 years (since 2015) I've been running the show mostly by myself, except for the Summer, but tourism has been increasing in the Azores and I need some help. I'm very friendly and easy-going, and will be here for you and your needs. This hostel is relatively small, only 24 beds, so it's pretty easy to get to know everyone on a first-name basis. We're located in the center of Ponta Delgada, so you can walk everywhere. Also, I'm willing and available to introduce you to everyone in town so you'll never have a boring day :)
All I require is someone with a happy face and willing to help out, someone who enjoys talking and giving tips, someone who enjoys meeting people and making them feel at home!
Also, I'm always looking for new ideas, so don't be shy and share them with me - two heads are always better than one!

You will get to meet a lot of people from every part of the world, as well as practice portuguese. Also, you get the meet The Azores, these beautiful islands in the middle of the Atlantic. Why shouldn't you come? Everyone is friendly and for sure you'll make friends for life! We'll provide for breakfast and pocket money, in order to make your experience even better!

Aide
We will require help with breakfast - no cooking involved, just setting the table and helping guests with your smile - check-in process and general support to our guests from around the world. This might include booking trips, taxis or restaurants, for example, or simply just helping them planning their day. Also, light cleaning (this means a mop on the bathroom floor - a 30-minute task.
We do require some knowledge of portuguese, as we get a lot of guests that are portuguese-speakers.

Hébergement
A private room with access both from inside the hostel and from outside. Acess to bathroom and fully equiped kitchen, bike and every help you might need/want.

Time off is exactly that - time off. You get to go to the beach, explore the beautifull sights in the Island of São Miguel,
(Azores), whalewatching, termal bathing, food and drinks, hiking, etc etc. There are buses but also we might arrange some kind of transportation. We just have to talk about it and everything will be fine :) Minimum appliance is two months, as it takes some time to settle in and be comfortable with everything in the hostel, and we require at least basic knowledge of portuguese!
We do offer payment - a minimum wage, according to the number of working hours - so that you can take care of your own meals (apart from breakfast, that is on us!).
