Description
I am a visual artist and I founded an arts and culture association that has been developing projects for over 30 years with an international network of artists, photographers, performers and creators.
The house, located in Montreuil in a very quiet residential neighbourhood, has hosted numerous artistic projects, residencies and gatherings over the years. Visiting artists and friends still stay there regularly, creating a friendly, open and inspiring atmosphere.
The house is cosy, quiet and surrounded by two small gardens. It is just 10 to 15 minutes from the metro, providing quick access to central Paris.
Montreuil is a lively and creative town, often referred to as the “Brooklyn of Paris”. It boasts numerous cafés, restaurants, concert halls, cultural venues, theatres, an excellent low-cost arthouse cinema, as well as a very dynamic arts scene.
I enjoy human interaction and discussions about art, culture, travel and life experiences. Curious, creative and open-minded people will be particularly welcome here.

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
The house has long been a place for gatherings, artistic exchange and shared experiences. By welcoming people from different countries and backgrounds, I enjoy creating a warm and welcoming space where everyone can share their experiences, culture, ideas and skills.
As a visual artist involved in collective and international projects for over 30 years, I can share my experience in artistic creation, photography, artist’s books, experimental practices and the organisation of independent cultural projects.
Workawayers will be able to discover the artistic and cultural life of Montreuil and Paris: exhibitions, concerts, cinema, cafés, markets, events and the neighbourhood’s vibrant alternative venues. Depending on the time of year, there may also be opportunities to meet visiting artists or friends involved in various creative projects.
I particularly enjoy simple, everyday interactions: cooking, sharing ideas, music, travel experiences or artistic practices. Welcoming people from other cultures is, for me, a way of constantly opening up new human and creative perspectives.
Aide
Tasks may vary depending on the time of year and each person’s skills:
- Gardening and maintaining small gardens
- Small DIY tasks : putting up shelves, repainting certain areas, simple repairs
- Helping to better organise the house
This is not intensive work but rather a friendly exchange in a calm and creative setting. I particularly appreciate people with manual or artistic skills, or a taste for collaborative projects.
We can work together on certain projects and share skills throughout your stay. The house regularly welcomes artists, friends and people from all walks of life, creating a very enriching atmosphere of cultural and human exchange. There will be no help with maintenance of spaces for guests of my house. If artist friends or family members are staying in the house, Workaway will not provide any assistance with cleaning the communal areas used by any of these guests.

I speak French fluently and I would be very happy to improve my English through everyday conversations and shared activities.
Hébergement
The house is spacious, cosy and situated in a quiet neighbourhood in Montreuil. It offers a comfortable and safe environment for hosting Workaway volunteers.
The accommodation on offer includes a single bedroom. The bathroom is shared, as is the kitchen, which is fully equipped (gas hob, oven, coffee machine, tea, and everything needed for everyday cooking).
The house is spread over several floors: on the ground floor are the living room, the kitchen and a workshop area dedicated to DIY and craft activities. On the first floor, there are three bedrooms as well as the living areas. On the second floor, a separate studio is occupied by an artist.
Three meals a day are provided: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I provide the ingredients and basic food supplies, with a preference for fresh and local products. We will discuss dietary needs and preferences in advance (vegetarian, vegan, allergies, etc.) in order to organise meals and provide suitable food for everyone.
The kitchen is fully equipped and Workawayers will always have access to everything needed to cook comfortably.
The organisation is flexible: sometimes we will eat together, and at other times Workawayers may prepare their meals independently according to their own rhythm and preferences. I will communicate meal times in advance so everyone can organise themselves and join if they wish.
In general, I take care of the cooking, but if a Workawayer would like to help or cook a dish from their country, they are of course very welcome to do so. If artist friends or family members are staying in the house, Workaway will not provide any assistance with cleaning the communal areas used by any of these guests.
I appreciate simple, healthy and warm meals. For me, meals are a moment to relax, take a break from the day, reduce stress and enjoy convivial exchanges and conversations together.
The overall atmosphere is calm, respectful and friendly.
Autres infos...
Montreuil is a vibrant, cultural town on the outskirts of Paris. The house is in a quiet residential neighbourhood, yet is very well connected to central Paris.
Transport links are easy and fast:
• Metro line 9 (Mairie de Montreuil station)

These lines provide quick access to central Paris and its main districts.
In their free time, Workawayers can make the most of the local cultural scene: cinemas, theatres, numerous concert venues, and community and artistic projects. Montreuil is a very creative and dynamic town, often appreciated for its cafés, restaurants and friendly atmosphere — many Parisians also go out there.
