  Description

  My name is Maya. I am a teacher, fluent in four languages (Spanish, English, French and Catalan). I live with my partner, who is a software engineer, and also with two ducks, two cats, seven chickens and a pony in Asturias. Two and a half years ago we bought an old house in Asturias to change our lives and make the leap to rural life that we had dreamed of for years. The place is at the foot of the Monsacro, 100 metres from the Morcín River waterfalls and with views of the Aramo mountain range and the Angliru. A house and a 400 m2 piece of land was something we could handle. But suddenly, due to the twists of fate, we ended up with another property (a small house and stables built in 1930), a 2000 m2 meadow and a 7900 m2 chestnut forest. All this was completely unexpected. The humble project we had has expanded and now includes setting up a workshop, planting a food forest and a permaculture garden, and keeping animals to manage the land. But, we are only two people and that is not enough. More about us... In our free time we like to play board games and role-playing games, play the ukulele and violin, and relax on the porch.
  
  Mi nombre es Maya. Soy maestra, hablo cuatro idiomas fluidamente (español, inglés, francés y catalán). Vivo con mi pareja, que es ingeniero de software, y también con dos patos, dos gatas, siete gallinas y una poni en Asturias.
  Hace dos años y medio compramos una casa antigua en Asturias para cambiar de vida y hacer el salto a lo rural con el que soñamos durante años. El lugar está a los pies del Monsacro, a 100 metros de las cascadas del río Morcín y con vistas a la sierra del Aramo y al Angliru. Una casa y un trocito de tierra de 400 m2 era algo que podíamos manejar. Pero, de pronto, por avatares del destino, acabamos con otra propieda más (una casita y cuadra construida en 1930), un prao de 2000 m2 y un bosque de castaños de 7900 m2. Todo esto fue completamente inesperado.
  El humilde proyecto que teníamos se amplió y ahora incluye montar un taller, sembrar un bosque de alimentos y un huerto de permacultura y tener animales con los que gestionar la tierra. Pero, somos solamente dos personas y no nos bastamos.
  Más cosas sobre nosotros... En los ratos libres nos gusta jugar a tableros y juegos de rol, tocar el ukele y el violín y relajarnos en el porche.

  I speak four languages and am a teacher with over 20 years' experience teaching, amongst other things, languages in England. Anyone who needs help perfecting their Spanish, please count on me. I also play the baritone ukulele, sing and compose and would be delighted to explain details of the local culture to visitors. I look forward to hearing new ideas on how to tackle tasks and to hearing suggestions relating to the organic garden. (If you have a musical instrument, bring one!)
  
  Hablo cuatro idiomas, soy maestra con más de 20 años de experiencia enseñando, entre otras cosas idiomas en Inglaterra. Cualquiera que necesite ayuda para perfeccionar el español, que cuente conmigo. También toco el ukelele barítono, canto y compongo y estaría encantada de explicar detalles de la cultura local a los visitantes.
  Espero poder ver ideas nuevas sobre como acometer tareas y escuchar sugerencias que tengan que ver con el huerto ecológico. (¡Si tienes instrumento musical, tráetelo!)

  Aide

  We need help outdoors, garden tasks, chopping firewood, building fences and some carpentry tasks if anyone has the knowledge. There is also maintenance and cleaning tasks.
  
  Necesitamos ayuda en exteriores, trabajo de huerto, cortar leña, construir vallas y algunos trabajos de carpintería si es que alguien tiene el conocimiento. También hay trabajos de mantenimiento y limpieza.

  Hébergement

  Independent cottage of 40 m2. It has two bedrooms, a kitchen-dining room and a bathroom. Despite being old, the interior was renovated to make it completely functional and comfortable. There will be everything necessary in the cottage's kitchen so that those staying there can prepare breakfast and dinner to their liking. I will cook lunch for everyone.
  
  
  Casita independiente de 40 m2. Tiene dos habitaciones, cocina-comedor y un baño. A pesar de ser antigua, el interior fue reformado para hacerla completamente funcional y cómoda.
  Habrá todo lo necesario en la cocina de la casita para que los que se hospedan allí, se elaboren el desayuno y la cena a su gusto. La comida de mediodía la cocinaré yo para todos.

  A pesar de que parece que estamos en mitad de la nada, la parada de bus hacia Oviedo está a15 minutos caminando. En ese mismo pueblo hay también tienda de comestibles, bares, farmacia y centro médico.

  Possibilité d’accueillir les digital nomads

  Hace unos meses pusieron fibra óptica por el valle y nos conectamos. Funciona muy bien. En caso de que falle, tenemos Starlink también. Hay varias estancias donde instalarse a trabajar con tranquilidad y sin distracciones, tanto en la casita pequeña de alojamiento como en la grande.
