Description
We are a semi retired couple with one Basset Hound living in quasi rural Nova Scotia. We have a cozy home and an acre property, which is fully fenced so the hound can run free. We have a large private bedroom to offer, and a shared bath. We have lovely outdoor spaces with 2 decks, lots of seating options, outdoor fireplaces and a wood fired pizza oven. We have a replica Irish pub in our basement! (for real!) We are most interested in having someone care for our dog when we are away, but from time to time, we may have some small household tasks available, for example, snow removal in winter, lawncare in the summer months, weeding of the vegetable garden in summer, splitting & firewood in the fall - that sort of thing. We are more looking for house/dog sitters than workers, to be honest!

You could definitely practice your English staying with us, and we'd be happy to share with you any of our knowledge of Canadian customs and heritage. We are located in Nova Scotia, minutes from both the New Brunswick and PEI borders! A perfect location if you are interested in exploring the Martimes!! You can visit 3 provinces in one day!

Aide
We're hoping someone might want to stay in our home and look after our dog while we're away from time to time. We love to camp on late Spring & Summer weekends, but our dog does not, so it would be ideal if someone were interested in hanging out in our area, and willing to look after our dog when we go away. She (Molly) is super loving but has become diabetic, and therefore requires two insulin injections per day which are relatively easy to administer, but you must be comfortable doing so if you are going to stay with us. She also likes a short daily walk.

We are located in Nova Scotia, minutes from both the New Brunswick and PEI borders! A perfect location if you are interested in exploring the Martimes!! You can visit 3 provinces in one day! We only need help with dogs when we go away (mostly on weekends) so the rest of the time is your own for exploring! Our dog Molly has recently been diagnosed with diabetes and now requires insulin injections twice per day, once between 7 - 8am and again between 7 - 8pm. She must eat her meal prior to having her injection, and timing is very critical, so this does restrict anyone who is caring for the dogs as you must be home to feed and administer insulin at the specific times. In addition, she can only be left alone for about two hours at a time, due to her need for frequent urination (as a result of being diabetic). Also she is mostly blind now and misses her sister to whom we said goodbye in September, so she is very sad when left alone for any length of time.

Grace (10 ans)
Grace is a basset hound whom we have had since she was a puppy. She is a relatively low-key, lazy senior gal who sleeps most of the day, but eats well and does enjoy a short stroll around neighborhood from time to time. She's relatively easy to care for, other than having to take an amoxicillin capsule each night right before bed (easy to give her tucked into a wiener!).
Molly (13 ans)
Molly is a Basset Hound who we rescued in 2016. She is sweet and loving and just a wonderful old soul. She has recently been diagnosed with diabetes and now requires insulin injections twice daily. She is managing very well, however, the insulin regime requires anyone caring for the dogs to be present at the precise feeding and injection times each day, so it is somewhat restrictive.
