We are a retreat center in Zeeland, the Netherlands. We offer a place for people to slow down, deepen and still. Thanks to connection with yourself, others and the environment, you get new inspiration for life. We are a non-profit organization promoting a warm, resilient and healthy society. We do this by organizing our own retreats where people live, learn and relax together. And we also rent our place to those who want to organize their own activity that fits within our mission.
We are close to the coast, with vast beaches, dunes and a beautiful forest. You really feel away from everything and can find stillness.
As a volunteer, you come to live and work with us for a while. You live with others according to the fixed daily rhythm and can participate in retreat sessions if time allows. In our daily activities with guests and staff we are nourishing the mind and the body. We do silent walks, guided meditations, yoga, dance moments, sharing circles or we have a dip together in the natural swimming pool.
The help we need here is with the day to day chores to have the center running. You help minimum 5hours a day.
You can contribute in many ways. This can be by making the breakfast, help in the kitchen, doing the laundry, cleaning of the place and the rooms, closing in the evening. You can also help us with marketing, social media, photography, etc. We ask you to be all round, willing to do different chores and take some responsibility (for example, after prepping 2 times the breakfast with one of the staff, we expect you to be able to do it by yourself, a description and pictures are available)
Looking for all round people
- experience in hospitality is a +
- we have a strong preference for Dutch speaking people. If on top you are willing to help us with marketing and social media or if you have graphic design skills, please mention this in your message.
In return we offer the support of a warm and fun community that will welcome you as one of them! You will live in a spacious apartment with possibly other volunteers. There are two bedrooms (a double and a single), a fully equipped kitchen, a living room, a bathroom. Smoking in and around the house is not allowed. If there are no retreats, you will consult with the administrators on what to do. If there is no work, you are free. If there are no retreats and no work, you can help yourself with leftovers. If there is nothing left you can cook in your own kitchen (the supermarket is close-by).
The minimum age to apply as a volunteer is 23ys old.
No pets are allowed.
We prefer people that can stay at least one month.
If you apply, send us your motivation. If we feel it can be a match, we will have a video call to see whether it will fit. If you come you agree with the community guidelines of the center, what is on our website we will send to you after the call.
Who are the other residents that you will meet?
- Liselotte (60) is the founder of the retreat center. Together with Michiel (59), she is the driving force behind the project. Together they make a dream come true and they want to create a beautiful place where people come together with the intention of restoring balance in their personal lives, in wider society and in their relationship with nature. She is a great connector between people, loves the community life, and she is always enthusiastic about new ideas and projects!
- Kiki (40) is our vegan/veggie chef! She has a great love for people and thrives in our community. She loves new adventures and challenges. This brought her to the center where she can make her job from her two passions (people and cooking). When she is not at the center, she lives in a tiny house near Antwerp in the prettiest orchard of the country. She loves cooking, eating, cycling, hiking, cheese, kombucha and tiramisu :) She an also give shiatsu or holistic massages, yoga or meditation.
- Karen (53) loves to bring order in the chaos. She stays calm and friendly even in the most hectic moments. She loves good conversations and real contact with staf and guests and always adds a motherly and caring touch in her way of dealing with people. Karen lightens up when there are many guests in the center and she has an eye for the details and is quick to help you out with all your needs. Karen is also a trainer and gives massage and coaching sessions if requested.
- Joyce (61) has a great reputation as our mindfulness, yoga and dance teacher. Her voice brings people in a safe and quiet state. Joyce is the perfect person here to make people feel welcome and wind down from the hectic world. As she has been a 'workaway' herself during her travels, she loves introducing and helping out workaways
When she is not giving sessions in the morning and evening, she helps us all out to keep our homy retreat center clean and cozy!
- Suus (63) keeps an eye over the big picture. She takes care that we all have a good balance between rest and working time, for we all tend to work hard because we love our jobs! It can be a trap... Suus also has tons of experience as a retreat chef, together with her husband John (below) and will take turns with Kiki in the kitchen. Both Suus and John have a lot of experience in mindfulness and vipassana retreats and bring a feeling of peace and wisdom to the center.
- John (62), is as multi talented as most of our staf. He is handy, caring and is happy when our beautiful center and all its technical installations are kept tidy and in order. But you will also see him in our morning and/or evening sessions, as a mindfulness, yoga and Qi gong trainer, he will help us to connect to our inner landscape with powerful body scans and meditations and when he sings and plays the guitar, you might feel a tear running down your cheeks.Tipos de ajuda e oportunidades de aprendizado

You participate in the daily life of the retreat center and the daily activities nourishing the body and mind. During the retreats there will be 3 delicious vegetarian/ vegan meals served a day. There is no alcohol in the center and we also like it if people (and our volunteers) detox digitally. You have the opportunity to meet interesting people (trainers, coaches, artists, musicians, mindfulness teachers, therapists...) During the meals, we sit together with the guests. You are part of the community.
You can also use all the facilities in the center. We have a big library, a massage room, a creative space, a natural swimming pool, a sauna (you can use on fixed moments), ... and much more.Ajuda

If however there is no work, you are free and we we trust that you are creative enough to spend time alone or explore the island!
An attitude of respect and integrity is very important to us. As a volunteer, you will act ethically, positively and with respect for other guests.Idiomas
