Description
Looking for a single/couple for July and August for gardening , housekeeping and working with mangoes.
We are a very well traveled, well opinionated couple that would like to share life experiences at our place (this is NOT a farm) in Kauai Hawaii. Since we have been blessed with a beautiful place we like sharing it with people who want a break from the routine.
We help the church by providing accommodation when it is needed for visiting pastors, speakers, musicians etc.
And many friends and relatives come out here to be recharged.
We like helping the local food bank with fresh fruit when this is available seasonally. You should not be allergic to mangoes or oranges, limes and lemons, pomegranates, bananas, lichees, green leafy vegetables and herbs.
We have interests in vegetarian cooking and growing our own food. We are interested in helping people out with what resources we have available.
Help around the house is currently our top priority, but as the seasons go by that changes. The majority of the tasks are related to house cleaning, maintenance and yard chores. Please contact us if you have any skills in this area.
We like to communicate via email. No Video/Zoom calls please.
THE MINIMUM STAY IS ONE MONTH. It is NOT one week nor 10 days or anything less than 30 days.
Please have the correct necessary documents (aka US citizenship or a green card) to work LEGALLY in the USA . A visitors visa or ESTA does not allow you to work legally in the USA. We don't/cannot sponsor non-US residents to work with us.

Our primary focus right now is house and yard cleaning.
Fruit picking in season with possibility of chopping and freezing fruit. Yard help if needed. Help with housecleaning and maintenance.
Dog walking and playing with dogs and occasional dog care.
We have multiple avocado, banana, coconuts, custard apple, chikoos, lemons, limes, lychee, mango, oranges, pomegranate trees and generous neighbors with breadfruit, star fruit .
That being said, this is NOT a farm nor is it a ranch.
No child care needed
PLEASE READ :We host only a US resident or if u have a work permit to work in the US. Hosting people with a visitors' visa is illegal.
This may be opposite to what you have been given to understand, but doing a workaway in the USA without a work permit, green card or residency by birth or being a naturalized US citizen is NOT legal.
“VOLUNTEERING” or Working in exchange for a place to stay or for food is NOT legal under the Visa Waiver or visitor visa program. The US Customs and Border control do NOT consider this as volunteering. They consider that u are being PAID for working by giving you a place to stay and /or food.

Studio apartment with its own bathroom and kitchen with cooking utensils. We provide seasonal fruit grown on the property. We have multiple avocado, banana, calamansi, coconuts, custard apple, chikoos, lemons, limes, lychee, mango, oranges, pomegranates, and generous neighbors with breadfruit, star fruit, grape fruit etc.
You may have to share space with other workawayers though we try to avoid that happening.

Centrally located in Kauai. A rural setting within a 1 to 3 miles (2 to 5 km) of the restaurants, grocery, stores, hospital and churches.
We have dogs so you must love dogs.
No child care needed contrary to what it shows. I don't know how "Project involves children " popped up. It does not.
A visitors or students Visa is not acceptable to work in the US

Sandra and Walt were very kind and helpful hosts. We had amazing mangoes from the garden. Moreover, we learnt some indian foods and how to make chocolate pudding from avocados. The dogs are lovely, especially Mac :). We had our own room so all in all it was a good first workaway experience. (And you will admit that Sandra is always right ;))

Sandra and Walt were the best workawayer we could have. As a vegan couple we couldnt wish better. They made us some wonderful meal, and we made our reserve of mangoes for years.
