Janelle and Greg have been incredibly pleasant hosts! I could tell so many nice things about my two and a half weeks with them, that I don't know where to start.
I had the privilege to stay in the beautiful cottage which was amazing to have my own space.
The work I had done was what you would think of doing on a farm with caddle. Repairing
… read more fences, gardening work or moving the caddle. what I didn't think of was controlling weeds in the paddocks, which means pulling out the weeds by hand, cutting their seeds or using a hoe to get them out. I really liked it! just driving around with the Polaris and enjoying the width nature :))
communication about what to do and where to help had been easy and very flexible.
what I really enjoyed when working with Janelle or Greg together was the ability to ask them out about farming and just chatting in general.
to me, the communication with them, how they included me in their lifes and introduced me to family and neighbors was what stood out the most!
Janelle is a great chef and the food they provide was every time very delicious. Also at dinner or lunch I enjoyed the talks with them since improving my English, is one big goal of mine and they have so many interesting things to tell about their lifes and experiences :))
I am so happy that we will get to meet again and I have the chance to invite them over where I come from.
I can totally recommend staying here if you are interested in getting to know people, enjoying the nature, while being close to the beach.

We continue our trend of having fabulous workawayers. Richard is a very smart, respectful and curious young man. He ticked many things off my long to-do list - some that had been there for years. He helped with fencing, repairs, garden maintenance, fixing water troughs, digging ditches and many more things. He did everything very well, replaced
… read more items used, cleaned up and took the initiative on jobs he saw needed doing. He cleaned the kitchen thoroughly after every meal and helped with meal preparation. He is a very curious and knowledgeable conversationalist. My mother-in-law, sister-in-law and neighbours all adopted Richard - a good sign. We will no doubt see Richard again. And you would do well to host him should the opportunity arise.

… read more cows and the chickens want to move in with her. She prepared most of our meals - always delicious and healthy and thoughtful in relation to our dietary limitations. She is fit and active and a real glass-full person. We shared some lovely beach swims and dinners with great conversation on the verandah together. We wish her well and look forward to visiting her in Germany soon.

Greg loved the variety from our normal on-the-run meals. And he loved taking a walk with Greg's elderly mum and meeting our friends and family. … read more in the kitchen. If you are a meat & 3 veg household you'll find catering easy, but trickier if you are not. But do get Melanie to make apple pie. It was oh, so good. And she is so efficient in the cooking process. We also enjoyed their curiosity about our livestock and farm activities. They showed me beautiful spots of the area around the farm and make me enjoy some real local life (don't miss Greg's advice if you like good wine!!). they taught me a lot about organic farming and sustainability (Janelle is an expert and a professional!) and make me regret every moment not to stay longer with them.
