This was my first workaway, and it sets the bar high! Iris and Keni have taken on a big challenge in renovating and living in a listed water tower, and they have just the right perspective and approach to be successful. It was fun working with them on preparing the greenhouse for the coming season, and moving forward the project of fixing broken
… read more windows in the tower itself. Equally enjoyable was being included in family activities like weekly market and soccer/ football games. These are four cheerful, talented, communicative people. It was stimulating to be with them, even for a short time. Thanks Iris, Keni, Xilia, and Yuko!

I don't have words to describe the week. Iris and Kenny was attentive with me. I was part of their family. I will never thank them enough for what I have expetienced. The work was pleasant. I sanded and painted windows.

Last week was very special because Loane was in our water tower. In less than a week, she accomplished more than we had hoped for. She is a very hard and precise worker and likes what she is doing. We made substantial progress on our window project. I am very grateful to her for that.

It was very enjoyable to have Cody in the house. He got along very well with our guests, the children and with us.

That went very well, she seamlessly integrated into our life and was like a big sister for our daughter. It was wonderful to hear them talk in a mixture of Dutch and English.
Imogene tackled at variety of tasks that had been on our to-do list. She did some gardening and built an impressive woodstock.

We had the pleasure of hosting Nandi and Kata for a two-week stay and it was very nice to have them with us.
They helped us prepare for a big festival at our place, Kata and Nandi cleaned up our garden and finished our large wood-stack. And after that Kata made a delicious chocolate banana cake for our daughter's birthday! It was nice seeing them

After the party we proved to be an excellent team when it came to paving the area for the car and sheds. They really wanted to finish the job and continued working well into the dark. We achieved more than we had expected and we are very grateful for their work.
Not only did they help out with tasks in the garden, Nandi and my husband had many common interests and he was happy to finally find someone with whom he could geek out and have in-depth conversations about computers.
We are happy that their mission to find an apartment has been successful. We wish them the best in their new home. In fact, we can't wait to visit them and try Nandi's culinary masterpiece: Lasagna!
