Kyo and Emi are a really lovely couple from Japan. We had a great time with them sharing our cultures. They were always up for any adventure, outing or work we suggested. We found them very easy to get on with and we had some great times together. They have been working really hard on improving their English and we were able to communicate well

Couldn't have asked for better. They have an excellent work ethic; always offering to help and were super helpful around the house doing things without having to be asked. We will miss our Japanese friends!
We had amazing experiences here. We enjoyed working and staying. They are very kind!!!! They gave us everything!!!
We don't speak English very well. But they tried to understand what we said. We were very happy. We can't express my gratitude enough. They were really great people.
We would like to give them 100 stars!! 5 stars are not enough.

My seven or so weeks with Lynne and Arfa were rich and thoroughly enjoyable. The work was varied in the plant nursery and on various tasks around the property and community, and it felt rewarding to help Lynne and Arfa in their meaningful and ecologically significant work. Not to mention the lovely cheeky dogs, the inspiring piggos (who taught me how to live well), the outdoor bath, the sunsets seen from the kitchen, the very involved card games, the abundance of fresh avocados... I felt very lucky to be here. I got a new sense of what a good life can look like. So yeah, book away, you won't regret it.
We had Till & Raphaela stay with us for close to 2 weeks. They competently got on with any tasks set them and were able to work unsupervised. We had the pleasure of staying with Lynn and Arthur for two weeks and are grateful for the experience. They are warm, welcoming, and caring hosts. Their two adorable dogs and kunikuni pigs were a joy to be around, always eager for a scratch.
The work in their nursery is straightforward. Mainly repotting, which can feel repetitive but also calming.

The view from their property is stunning, with the harbor’s ever-changing landscape thanks to the shifting tides. Watching the sunset over the water was especially beautiful. There’s also plenty to explore in the area, and nearby Opotiki, while small, is also worth a visit.
Arthur is an excellent chef, and even though some of the dishes might seem like they shouldn’t go together, they always turn out delicious and satisfying.Comentário

Travis stayed with us for just over a week. He settled in straight away and was great to hang out with. He is a very experienced nurseryman and has lots of general skills (including in the kitchen). I had the best time staying with Lynne and Arthur! The tasks varied, I helped in the nursery, with Lynne in town and also on the bus. They do an amazing job in reforesting and planting native bush in the area. I learned so much about plants, trees and bird life in Aotearoa from them. If you’re eager to learn more about it too, this is definitely the place you should go to. Helen was an absolute delight to have in our home. She quickly became comfortable and was very easy to talk with. She is wise and perceptive beyond her years, but still lots of fun. She even taught us a new game skyjo!
She is strong and fit and was happy to do all the jobs we set.
Helen would be welcome back any time.
