I have been living in Thailand for over 12 years now - I have a small bamboo bungalow in the rural town of Kuraburi - around 2 hours north of Khao Lak and need help to care for 5 dogs. The dogs had been left homeless and we are trying our best to provide care and company for them.

Living in a rural village gives you the chance to see how Thai people really live - Kuraburi helps give you a connection to local area. Kuraburi is not a touristic town and life is simple, food is authentic and delicious.

Hello I need help with caring for 5 dogs in Kuraburi, this is a down time project, giving volunteers the chance to relax and have a base to work from. I request volunteers to idealy saty for 2 - 4 weeks, or longer if you can. The dogs are my priority and need walked, fed, brushed and washed and of course love and attention. All I ask is that the bungalow and small garden area be kept clean and tidy each day, and really, the rest of your time is your own. This is an ideal project for long time travelers who need some private space and time.
We have a scooter that you can use and there are places in town to rent a motorcycle if you like, but please make sure you have insurance.

Bamboo bungalow with private bathroom, only a cool water shower, western self flush toilet. You have a small outdoor kitchen areawith fridge and gas cooker to prepeare your own meals and small seating area.

Kuraburi is located 15km from some of the most beautiful and deserted beaches, totally unspoiled by tourism. It has also the closest local pier to the island of Koh Phrathong, one of the last remaining undiscovered islands in Thailand islands, which hosts a savanna and miles and miles of beautiful beaches. Kuraburi is surrounded by mountains and waterfalls and you are immersed in beautiful nature, the area is truly beautiful and off the beaten track. There are morning and late afternoon markets everyday and the local food is delicous and not expensive.

I have been to Kuraburi twice to take care of these dogs. they're each so unique and full of love and I was so lucky to be able to spend time with them out in the sticks. An amazing stay in a nice&clean bungalow fully surrounded by nature. The dogs are very easy going and it‘s fun to spend time with them. If the weather is good you can drive to a beach that is 20 minutes away.
