Claudia is a great host. We spent two weeks on her little farm and wish we could have stayed longer.
When we arrived she gave us a very warm welcome and we felt very comfortable from the first moment. She is very caring and always makes sure that you feel comfortable. The lovely three dogs, the cats and the five horses, we have taken to our hearts
… read more quickly and will not easily forget them. Claudia always made sure that we had fun with our tasks. We enjoyed helping her with the work in the garden and with the animals. It was very exciting to support her in the tasks with the horses. The communication with Claudia has always been great, she is always close by and supported us when we had questions. We always enjoyed the morning “Camporunde” with the dogs and the delicious dinners. We are very grateful to have been with her and spending amazing days together. Claudia had lots of great tips on what to do in the area and showed us the beautiful beaches. Nenyas beach is definitely the best;)
We will definitely come back and not just because Ben forgot his swimming trunks.

We don't have words to describe how much fun we had with Claudia, we felt as though we found a home away from home. Everything was great, and exactly as described. The animals are gorgeous and you get a real chance to connect with them.

Johannes is a top workwayer!
He is friendly, very reliable, well organized and is an exact and tidy person. He is very easy to have around and he has a good sense of when to socialize and when to enjoy some privacy.

… read more and otherwise he was an immense help with the maintenance of the finca. He is able to fix many things, he sees the work and works very careful and exact and he thinks whatever task through so that you can be very sure to get a perfect outcome. He painted big parts of the house so it looks like new, he did alot of gardening, took care of the pool and helped with thousand little things so that the finca looks beautiful.
He helped me also with Computer- and Internetproblems and with some filming I needed for work.
Together with another workawayer he took care of the finca and all the animals while I was abroad and I didn't had to worry a second.
I can't thank him enough for all the great work and I highly recommend Johannes as a workawayer!

I enjoyed my time at Claudia's Finca very much! Initially we agreed for a stay of 4 weeks which we then gradually extended to 3 months including some house-sitting together with another Workawayer. … read more feel being part of the Crew. The well-being of all the animals is top priority and it was very enriching for me to learn from Claudia's immense experience with animals. In particular, the respectful treatment of horses; to watch her interacting with them and to experience the group dynamics and non verbal communication. At the beginning of my stay we experienced a rather challenging couple of days as one of her beloved horses was very ill and had to be released from great suffering. None of us was prepared for such a scenario and we managed to handle the situation in the best possible and respectful way.

Mark and Sara stayed here for 10 days and they were a pleasure to host: uncomplicated, kind and friendly with a good sense of taking part and being social, but also being independent.

… read more incredibly hard and were also kind and conscious around the animals. They trimmed hedges, swiped leaves and shoveled sand back into the paddock. Sara cleaned the hayhouse and Mark strimmed many many meters along fences.
We enjoyed meals and cups of tea while having interesting conversations.
I absolutely recommend them as workawayers, they really left a sparkling farm behind when they went on with their journey. Thank you Mark and Sara!

We stayed with Claudia for 10 days and had such a lovely time with her and the crew (animals). From first meeting Claudia when she picked us up in Chiclana we knew we would enjoy our time with her. Claudia took us to the local beach where we enjoyed walking her lovely dogs Ninia and Lexi, who were so friendly and fun to have around. The accommodation has everything that you need and is well maintained and cosy. The apartment has it's own entrance and outdoor terrace where you can chill out. There is a great flea market on Saturdays very close to her house where you can pick up a few bargains, which we did. Me encantó la experiencia con los caballos, darles de comer, bañarlos, limpiar su establo y comprender cada gesto, movimiento y reacción. Además me fascinó cuidar y compartir con Nini y Lexi dos hermosas y educadas perras, quienes hacen del día a día una aventura nueva con sus salidas a caminar al parque o la playa. Y q decir de mi Omely, Peny y Axl, tres gatitos llenos de ternura. Aunque lamentablemente ya no está Axlin.
Además me agradó mucho cuidar de las gallinas, a quienes diariamente se les da su cuidado, comida y limpieza y también quienes diariamente nos regalaron deliciosos huevos.
Fué para mi un placer ayudar a Claudia en las gestiones y papeleos, además de las conversaciones en Español las cuales ayudaron a mejorar su nivel y fluidez en el idioma, y gracias además por permitirme compartir sobre mi cultura.

Silvana came here twice and it was both times an absolute pleasure to host her.
She has a very good sense of "fitting in" into the daily routine and is very easy to have around. She picked up the tasks in no time, learned how to take care of the horses, was very good with the cats including the very small and sick kitten and the dogs loved her.

I was also grateful that she kept me posted about everything going on with the animals and she was particulary exact in reporting all the imortant information/ medication after she had to go to the vet with one of the dogs. She helped me A LOT with phonecalls and all kind of letters and computerthings regarding the spanish bureaucracy which I am forever thankful for! My spanish improved a lot with Silvana, I enjoyed all the lovely conversations we had and the colombian dishes she cooked and I learned so much about Colombia. Thank you for staying here, Silvana!

They picked up the routine very quickly so that I could go abroad with no worries even though they had to take care of an injured pony and a dog with an infected paw and they did an AMAZING job on cleaning wounds and going to the vet and giving love to the poor patients .. Both are very hardworking, they see what has to be done and a lot more, they clean and are very tidy, they cook and every morning we enjoyed a freshly baked bread made by Clara! They fixed fences and helped me with various jobs in the house and in the stable. They are simply very nice and positiv people and we had a lot of fun together. I will miss them dearly and I whish them all the best on the rest of their journey.

A workaway that deserves more than five stars! We had the pleasure of staying at Claudia's finca for 3 weeks and it was an unforgettably wonderful time. … read more always had a tip up her sleeve. We really enjoyed our time together with interesting conversations, delicious food and cosy hours in front of the fireplace, but we also had our retreat and space. Absolutely the perfect mix.
After a little more than 10 days of settling in, we were allowed to look after Claudia's animals and manage the farm for a week. Claudia prepared us very well so that we had a great time with the animals. The work was pleasant but also responsible, which made us feel proud. Chris was allowed to take the tractor out occasionally and the paddock maintenance and feeding and caring for the animals was very satisfying.
The walks with the (super well behaved) dogs were a super mix of play, fun, work and slowing down. The two chicas are really cuddly and we have taken them very much to our hearts. Just like me (Clara) the four horses. Very loving and patient animals, who wanted to help me with their curiosity. Chris was allowed to take care of the cats whenever they wanted to be petted or sometimes just wanted something to eat. :D Fresh eggs were always laid by the chickens, for which Chris in particular was very thankful. ^^ During this time, we were also supported by Silvana, another Workawayer. We were able to practise our Spanish with her, which was perfect! All in all, it was just great, like a second home, where we would love to come back! Jessy and Christoph stayed 4 weeks at the finca. They are very motivated and self driven, work really hard and exact, they are tidy and they see the work. … read more and I could trust them 100percent. They cleaned stalls, planted trees, took out weed, reorganized tackrooms, cleaned windows... amongst a lot of other things. Every morning, they walked the dogs which both, dogs and Jessy and Christoph, seemed to love. They were also great in communicating with our other workwayer, they both cook fantastic and together we enjoyed the meals while having interesting conversations. In their sparetime they were going for daytrips and to the beach and were very active and interested in seeing the beautiful zone. I can only recommend both Jessy and Christoph as workawayers and they are always very welcome to come back!

I farm-sitted Claudia's place and crew at the beginning of June 2022.
I spent around a week together with her and her crew to get acquainted with the systems, then a week alone with the four-legged (and two-legged!) crew. At that time, the crew was formed by 4 horses, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 3 chickens.

… read more and my presence was very precious to her: as a consequence, she showed immense appreciation and generosity towards me (and my partner, who connected us and joined briefly too). I felt very appreciated and validated as a volunteer and this is a truly rare experience! Thank you so much.
I respect and admire Claudia for her bald choice of moving alone -with the big crew of animals to take care of, from Switzerland to Spain. She is strong, centered, generous and caring. She might be relatively new to Workaway, but she has a long experience of hosting young travelers and students. I had a chance to meet her sons too and could observe how strong and balanced are the values she has passed on them.
Claudia is a horse osteopath and with her bright example of sensitivity and love she inspired me to pursue a similar career. It's incredible to witness her relationship to the horses. Anyone interested in horses will have a chance to learn a lot, if they're willing to observe and listen!
The work with the animals is the work of every farm maintenance, with a particular attention to be payed to the care of the old horses, who require special attentions and a firm (yet gentle!!) hand. I farm-sitted alone since I was confident to do it and it worked well, however the farm management can be more productive and enjoyable if shared with another person.

Gabi and Lucas stayed 6 weeks and I couldn't have asked for a better first experience with workaway. They went above and beyond.
