This was my first workaway and I spent three weeks at Joanne’s and Ross’ place. They are very nice hosts and took me to a lot of places, to tuesday-pizza-nights, to an art exhibition, to yoga and to picnic at Rex Smeal Park. The work was easy, I did mostly cleaning. Joanne was so nice to give me a list and the opportunity to organise when I want to do which tasks on my own. Furthermore every day was scheduled the same so that after 1pm I was able to explore beautiful Port Douglas.

Nele just did her first Workaway with us in Port Douglas. What an amazing young lady! She is hard working and can work independently always completing jobs well. Great attention to detail. She fit in well with us and enjoyed chatting and sharing meals with us. I highly recommend Nele to future hosts.

It was great to stay with Joanne and Ross. They showed me around the area and took me to the markets in Port Douglas. I felt very invited and comfortable living with them. Of course the location cannot be better, the beach is a minute away and there is an excellent shuttle connection to the town. Thank you for the easy stay!

David is an exceptional young man. He stayed with us in Port Douglas for less than 2 weeks but achieved so much in this small time. We were packing up our house and preparing it for rental as we are moving away for 6 months. David is very respectful and trustworthy and has an excellent work ethic. I can highly recommend David to future hosts.

Port Douglas is a beautiful area with lots of places to explore around it. The work is straight forward and simple, Joanne makes it clear what work needs to be done and how your progress is going.

Nicole and Lewis were fabulous helpers who were always willing to do whatever was asked of them. They are a lovely young couple who were easy going and fun to have in our home. They were very organised and explored the local area when not working. I highly recommend them to future hosts.
Jessie is an amazing young lady. Her first workaway experience proved to be wonderful. Jessie is hardworking and is a delight to have in your home. She always did over and beyond what was asked of her. Of course, being French she is also a great cook. I would highly recommend Jessie to future hosts and we hope to see Jess again in the near future.

I stayed with Joanne and Ross for 5 days and had the best time there!
I did jobs like housekeeping & gardening. The tasks were really easy in general and I enjoyed doing them. Joanne gave me a list of what to do every morning which made it really easy organising my day.

They were really making sure I felt at home at their place. My room and in general the whole house is beautiful and very clean. I could use the pool at any time and one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen is just a 2 min walk away.
I can’t recommend them enough!

Zoe was the most amazing person! So lovely and talented. We really enjoyed having her stay with us for a few weeks. Joanne & Ross are very welcoming hosts and their home is in a beautiful location! The work was very fair and varied from gardening or cleaning to walking their lovely dogs or cooking our evening meal. They made sure we didn't do more than the 5hours a day.

I had a wonderful time volunteering with Joanne and Ross. I helped complete a landscaping project, which now looks beautiful! The work is not difficult and it varies daily.
Port Douglas is a relaxed and tropical location...the beaches are beautiful, the locals are friendly, and living is easy! I met many wonderful people during my stay.
