Hi, I'm Tom, I'm 24 and from Bristol, England. I love hiking and travelling. I spent 3 months wwoofing in the Italian Dolomites in summer 2022 and 5 months workawaying in the Canadian Rockies across British Colombia and the Yukon in 2023. In 2025 I workawayed in Austria and Switzerland.

This summer I have been travelling around Central Asia and would like to finish my summer travels with a few days on a farm in Germany.
Since I discovered workaway and wwofing in 2022, it has changed my life and taught me so many new skills and appreciation for life and nature.
Over the last 4 years I've expanded my knowledge in looking after all sorts of animals; chickens, cows, sheep, donkeys and goats, and also improved my gardening knowledge in prepping, planting, pruning, weeding and harvesting. I may not be a professional by any standard but I am a quick learner who is fit, healthy and happy to work independently.
At home I work in retail and so I'm used to hard work and working in a team.

Across all the farms I've worked on in the last 4 years I did many tasks such as feeding and looking after animals, gardening and cleaning, weeding and picking, painting fences, stripping logs and generally helping and picking up new skills and knowledge in any way I can.
In my free time I loved to hike in the local area and spend time getting to know the kind families I stayed with.
My experiences in retail have given me strong skills in communication and team working.
As my Mum used to be a childminder I am also good with young children. I'm a hard worker and a quick learner who has no issue with physically demanding tasks or having to be independent.

I had a fantastic 3 weeks here with Micheal and Tanja. I mostly helped in the garden and with the haywork. The accommodation was wonderful and I always felt welcome and at home. Tom war zwischen zwei Stationen eine Woche bei uns und hat uns bei schwerer Arbeit wirklich gut geholfen. Er fragt genau nach und verrichtet dementsprechend seine Aufgaben willig und sehr präzise. Auch haben wir seine stille und respektvolle Art sehr wertgeschätzt.

My 3 week stay with Bill and Patricia was perfect. They were both very kind and hospitable hosts and I felt very comfortable here. Tom was a great addiction to the household. He certainly is not afraid of hard work. We trusted him to look after our property and cat for a week while he was here while we went to visit relatives. Did an excellent job.

Thomas came and worked on our farm in May. It was so nice to have him come and stay with us. He was a wonderful help. While he was staying with us, he helped us prepare the beds in the fields and helped plant. He was very helpful and worked well with all of our other workers. Tom was a delight to have on our farm.

I had a phenomenal time at Mike and Suzanne's. I stayed with them 3 weeks in June and they also let me stay a few extra days when my plans changed which I really appreciated.
