Hi, I’m Timo from Germany :).

I recently completed my training as a social assistant and in August I’ll start training to become an educator. Working with children has become a big part of my life over the last few years and it’s something I genuinely enjoy. I also have three godchildren who mean a lot to me.

Besides that, music is a huge part of who I am. I’m a singer and musician and have performed at weddings, events and festivals. I love meeting new people, hearing their stories and learning about different ways of life.

Friends would probably describe me as open-minded, talkative and easy to get along with. I enjoy being around people, but I’m also independent and happy to help wherever I’m needed.

Whether it’s helping with children, pets, household tasks, gardening, hosting guests or everyday jobs around the house, I always try to be reliable and give my best.

For me, Workaway is not just about travelling. It’s about getting to know people, experiencing everyday life in a different place and creating memories that stay with you long after the trip is over.

Yes 😊 I’d love to improve my English. I can already have conversations, but I still get nervous sometimes when speaking and I’d like to become more confident. And of course I’d be happy to help with German too. I think the best way to learn a language is just by talking, spending time together and not worrying too much about mistakes.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Over the past few years, I’ve had the chance to work in a wide variety of jobs – from hospitality at Berlin airports and hotels, to retail, to elder care and social work. This has made me extremely adaptable, reliable, and quick to learn. Whether it’s working under pressure at a busy hotel reception, supporting elderly people in daily life, or helping a team stay organized – I bring energy, empathy, and a positive attitude. 😊

Right now, I’m training to become a social assistant in Germany, which includes working with children, families, and people in need. Through this, I’ve discovered how much I enjoy supporting others, being creative, and bringing joy into everyday situations – whether through play, conversation, or a helping hand.

Besides that, I’m also a singer and songwriter – I love music, creativity, and connecting with people from all walks of life. I’ve performed on stages, written songs with others, and led workshops. So, I’d say I bring not only practical experience but also lots of heart and openness.

I’m super motivated to continue learning, grow through every experience, and be a great help wherever I go. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty, I ask questions when I don’t understand something, and I love to laugh while getting things done!

I’m a curious and social person and I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds. One of my favorite things about travelling is getting to know how other people live and hearing their stories.

In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, swimming and spending time outdoors. Music is also a big part of my life. I sing, write songs and perform at events from time to time.

I like being around people, having good conversations and sharing a laugh, but I also enjoy quieter moments and can keep myself busy. I’m generally easygoing, open-minded and always happy to try something new.
