Hi, nice to meet you!

My name is Sylvia, I’m 26 years old, and I feel happiest when I’m in nature and connected with people who love nature as much as I do.

I was born and raised by my mother in Germany. In 2019, I moved to the Netherlands to work as an au pair. I joined a host family near Utrecht for one year, where I looked after two lovely boys (age 5 and 7). After the year with my lovely host family, I moved to the South of the Netherlands to live with my uncle and started working there. Later, I rented an apartment in the city and worked for a forwarding company as an international transport planner for chemical products.

However, I didn’t feel happy living in the city and working a typical 9-to-5 job, so last May I quit my job and gave up my apartment. I initially planned to move back to Germany, but during this time I fell in love with a colleague from the company I had just left. I knew immediately that he was the right person for me to stay in the Netherlands. Even so, I still have a strong wish to change my lifestyle and to be more connected with nature. I tried working in an office again, but I realised that this is not what I need right now.

At this stage of my life I want to use my time to discover different lifestyles and learn from people who want to create something for others, and for themselves in connection to nature. For that reason I would love to meet people who are happy to share their inspiration and knowledge — and I would love to give back a helping hand and my curiosity.

I am a very peaceful person, I live very simply, am easy to live with, and I’m always happy to help with household tasks, cooking or gardening. I would love to learn more about permaculture, gardening, building maintenance, art, animal care.

I love music, I play the flute and the bassoon and I love to be outdoors and in nature. I'm an active person but not sportive. I like to go cycling, walking, doing watersports such as diving, sup, kajak. I love camping and campfires.
I like to be creative and do handcrafts and I'm interested in art.

  I prefer not to eat meat, but I do eat it. I eat almost everything except raisins, and I don’t like spicy food but I'm very open to learn new recipes and meals.
