Hi! My name is Sydney and I'm 27 years old, based out of the USA, in California.

My purpose of traveling is to explore the natural world and learn about all the different ways we can live life. My most important values are living simply, seeking adventure, spending time with nature, and creating genuine connections with the people around me. I want to learn new skills, help build or create something that my host is working on, and work with the land. I love working hard, spending time outdoors, and working with animals. I like to keep my space neat and tidy, especially if I'm in another's home, so I'll always help out around the house with that.

Culturally and personally, I enjoy connecting with the people of the countries I am staying in, and allowing myself to lean into their way of life.

I am interested in homesteading in the future, so would love to learn some skills around that as well.

Activities I enjoy are hiking/long walks, reading & writing, creating art, camping, cooking, listening to or making music, and learning anything new. In general, anything that allows me to spend time outdoors or creating is a good time for me.

When I'm not traveling, I work as a certified yoga teacher and licensed massage therapist. When I'm not working, I'm usually off hiking or camping somewhere.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I like working hard, learning new things, and I pick up new skills pretty quickly. I studied cultural anthropology in university. I work well with people, as well as alone.

Animals - I have extensive experience with dogs and cats, and have done a lot of volunteering at wildlife rehab centers -- so I generally know how to work with and around animals.

Children - I'm happy to help out with children of any ages! I enjoy helping kids at whatever stage they're in and encouraging them on what they are working towards. I have experience with childcare on a few different levels from babysitting to helping run a mindfulness childcare program at the yoga studio I worked at for many years.

Happy to get my hands dirty and be uncomfortable. I don't have much experience around farming, gardening, or building--but those are the things I want to learn through my stays because I would like to have my own homestead one day.

I'm a yoga teacher and massage therapist so can always offer some healing movement or bodywork when needed!
