Description
Hi, I am 62 years old and a cabinet maker by trade. I have travelled pretty widely but not really since lockdown. I have done several workaways, Portugal, Switzerland, El Hierro, France. I enjoy writing, fixing things, sailing, hiking and am considering coming back to the beautiful island of El Hierro which I have visited 7 or 8 times since the late 1990's. I would like to get a book written whilst I am there.

Simon stayed with us for two weeks in May 2025, and we had a truly positive experience hosting him. He is a highly skilled carpenter and demonstrated excellent abilities in manual work. Lovely people and a great studio to stay in. Francisco and Tere were a delight to be around. They are busy working people but they always had time for my questions or just to say hello. It was a magical three week stay with them. Thank you to you both.

Simon was/is an absolute pleasure to have stay with us. he is extremely talented in his professional and goes way above and beyond.
We really enjoyed his company and was really reliant. I hope we have found a great friendship.

A lot of work, in that you are using secateurs all day long! I found it much easier when I used the tools efficiently and used loppers when the branches were too thick! Simon came along to help us with our harvest. He was fairly local to us, so travelled each day. He is punctual, a keen and conscientious worker and a very interesting person to work alongside. Highly recommended.

Stayed just over a month with Rick, Sanne, children, animals and volunteers. Great experience. Lovely setting, interesting work, very well looked after by hosts who appreciated all the work the volunteers did. Thanks everybody. See you again!
