  Hello everyone!
  
  My name is Thibaud, and I’m French. Together with my partner Elin, who is Swedish, we are in the exciting process of renewing our liveaboard sailboat. The boat is currently on land indoors at a shipyard in Brittany, near Brest, France. We live nearby in a charming house by the water, where we can host up to two volunteers.
  
  ** For an ideal exchange, we are looking for volunteers with the following qualities: **
  - Respectful people who are openminded and interested in learning more about our project and the region we live in (we are not experts in sailing, nor natives to Brittany but we are glad to engage with people who show a general interest in their surroundings).
  - If your main interest is your phone, it is better you find another host (of course we understand that you want to keep in contact with friends and family, but we don't want a volunteer who spends their days scrolling on social media).
  - We also work and study at home during the mornings, so please be mindful of this. We expect volunteers to have an interest in going out and explore the beautiful landscapes from time to time. It rains quite a bit in Brittany during winter, but as we say in Sweden: there is no bad weather, only bad clothing :)
  - We will gladly open our home to you, but note that this is not an Airbnb where everything is always at your disposal, nor an open buffet. Please act with common sense, show our place respect and don't expect to be constantly served.

  We typically work on the boat in the afternoons for about 4 hours, but our schedule is quite flexible, allowing you to enjoy the mornings at your own pace. I work in the mornings, so this arrangement works well for us.
  
  Our location in Landéda, a small town in the far west of France, is ideal for nature lovers. The town is surrounded by the ocean, offering a peaceful and calm environment. If you enjoy outdoor activities and the beauty of nature, you’ll love it here. Although it's a quiet area, you can easily access the larger city of Brest by public transport, and we occasionally go there, so you’re welcome to join us.
  
  You don't need any prior experience, but we strongly value a willingness to help and learn. If you're interested in discovering the wonders of Brittany—its stunning landscapes, delicious food, and rich culture—and would like to pick up some new skills related to boat renovation, we would love to have you with us.
  
  Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to practice and improve your French, Swedish, and English if you're interested!

  We are a Togolese-French-Vietnamese-Swedish couple with a passion for exploring the world. Having traveled to over 65 countries and lived on several continents, we’ve gathered a wealth of stories and experiences. Fun fact: we actually met at an airport after missing our connecting flight—proof that even the unexpected can lead to incredible adventures! Our diverse backgrounds and global experiences shape our everyday life, and we genuinely enjoy connecting with people from all walks of life. We’re excited to welcome you into our home, where we can exchange stories, learn from each other, and enjoy life’s simple pleasures together.

  Aide

  We’re looking for enthusiastic and hands-on volunteers who are excited to help us with our sailboat renewal project. The tasks are varied and can range from sanding, painting, and woodworking to general maintenance and cleaning. No prior experience is necessary—but it is important that you bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. We’re happy to teach you the skills you’ll need along the way.
  
  In addition, we also ask you to help with the general cleaning of the house and cooking meals a couple of times during your stay.

  Hébergement

  You’ll be staying in our cozy guest bedroom, which features a unique bunk bed setup—a large bed at the bottom and a single bed at the top. This arrangement is perfect also for couples, as you can comfortably share the big bed together! The rest of the house has everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay, including a bathroom, a welcoming living room, and a fully equipped kitchen where we can prepare meals together. We also have two charming verandas, and a wood-burning stove to keep you warm during the long winter nights (though we also have heaters!)

  Autres infos...

  If you’re coming from abroad, getting to Brest from Paris is quite affordable with Ouigo, the low-cost, but fast, train service. We’d be happy to pick you up at the train station or provide you with detailed directions to ensure you reach our place without any hassle. As for food, we are pescatarians (but we eat mainly plant-based), but you are absolutely welcome to follow your usual diet. There is a supermarket nearby, where you can buy any other food you prefer.
  
  Please also note that we like to keep our house tidy and clean, and we expect volunteers to keep it that way.
