Hi
My Name is Silja and I’m 19 (turning 20 in August) and from germany. After I graduated from school in 2024 I stayed at two farms in Crete, Greece where I started to love Work and Travel which always had been my dream for years. After that I did a Volunteering year of social service (FSJ) which I’m still doing currently. I work at a music school and work a lot with children of different ages. But afterwards I want to continue to discover new countries, new cultures and new places. I want to meet new people and learn from them. I’m looking forward to lots of new experiences.
It makes me happy to learn new things and to meet new people and helping them. It just makes me happy to see smiles on other people’s faces and if I can help to achieve that I will gladly do so. I grew up with traveling which is why traveling is so important to me but most of the times me and my family traveled to different places in France. I also visited other places around the world like Greece or Italy but only a few times. I want to see and experience more.
Most of the time i’m a happy and talkative person but i can be quiet when first meeting someone new. I love to be creative in many different ways. I like to create new things, to draw and to dance. Dancing and music were always ways for me to express how I feel and it always fascinated me how much you can express without words. I still have a lot to learn and to discover and I hope that the traveling will help me figure out more about myself and the world.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a lot of experience with taking care of children because i have a lot of cousins and a niece and nephew. I also had a one day internship at a school for physically and mentally disabled people.
I also had a two week internship at an Organization called ARTbewegt which organizes different cultural events around my city and city’s around. Most of the time i did behind the scenes work which included helping the dancers, making advertising and posting on social media. After my internship I also worked a while for the ARTbewegt, i helped a different events which were mostly dance related events like a dance battle or dance performances.
I worked at a music school for one year which showed me more on how to work with children in different ages.
My native language is German which i’m willing to teach other people. I also speak English and learned the basics of Dutch in school (I’m living near the border to Netherland and Belgium). I help my father a lot around the house due to his health issues and i frequently do the grocery shopping for him and sometimes do the cooking.
I also painted my bedroom walls and some walls at my mothers house and I love building furniture.
I often change my hair color and sometimes I cut my hair myself and help dyeing the hair of my friends.
I have experience walking a dog because I sometimes walked the dog of a neighbor.
I have some experience in farmstay which includes taking care of a garden, cleaning and cooking. While staying there i also learned how to restore furniture and painted it.
I really want to discover new things and am eager to learn.

I really like to play games or meet with friends. I often organize crime dinners for me and my friends which is always a lot of fun.
I also play the piano and dance as it calms me.
In my free time I also like to read especially crime or fantasy novels. When i go out i like to take my camera with me to take fotos. I want to remember the things i experience and like to have something to look at. Music is really important to me and i listen to almost every genre. Right now one of may favorites to listen to is “I don’t know how but they found me”.
I also have asthma but it is not so severe (I always have my medicine with me for emergencies) and i rarely have an asthma attack.
