Hi! I am Rosie (24 years old) and I work for a conservation charity in the UK. I am currently on a sabbatical break from my work, and am excited to be involved in some hands-on projects.

I will be travelling to Chile with my childhood friend and we both are very keen to learn a new language, meet new people and immerse ourselves in a different culture.

I grew up on my parents’ Environmental Education Centre, so I have first-hand experience of having Workawayers and WOOFers involved in my life, and the give and take that is required to make it work! My family background also means that I am used to working on the land in a way that has the smallest environmental impact (such as in keeping with permaculture principles).

Alongside my love of the outdoors and nature, I love spending time with children and have lots of experience looking after the children of family and friends. I also have experience tutoring older children and teenages in a range of subjects.

The thing that excites me the most is learning new things, be this from philosophy to a language to a craft, I am always acquiring new skills. Hopefully Workaway will be the perfect way for me to do this whilst helping somebody ease their workload (and maybe even share some of my own skills!) I love to cook and hope to learn new recipes and techniques from you! I have been a vegetarian for over 10 years due to the environmental impact of a carnivorous diet.

I have travelled a lot before, both by myself and with friends so I am used to looking after myself and navigating new and exciting places. I am very independent, equally happy to socialise or be left alone to read and entertain myself.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have excellent organisational skills and pick up new skills quickly.

I have studied for two years at Cambridge University, a globally recognised educational institution, and so am happy to converse on a wide range of topics and interests.

I have over seven years of experience in hospitality so am comfortable dealing with customers, cooking and serving food and barista coffee. I also love to cook home-style food and experiment with new flavours.

I am comfortable entertaining and tutoring children, and have paid experience in both.

My family background means I am comfortable with manual, outdoor labour, as well as environmental and permaculture practices.

I have good computer skills, and can touch type quickly, use common processing systems and am quick to learn new ones.
