I have recently been studying in London for a Master of Dance Movement Psychotherapy; however, I have decided to take a break from my studies to travel and engage with the world in a meaningful way. I have a deep and lifelong appreciation for nature, as I grew up among the forests, mountains and oceans of western Canada. I hold an interest in herbalism and learning the properties of plants and their medicine. Those close to me would describe me as loyal, creative, dependable, determined, and fun. I am highly passionate about dance, yoga, social justice and somatics. I completed a course in Expressive Movement Facilitation and have since formed an organization in which I collaborate with other artists to hold accessible creative movement sessions for community members. I am passionate about bringing this work into the world, to help people reconnect with their creative expression, their bodies and each other. I am also highly passionate about music, and love to sing, play guitar and write songs, and am interested in learning how to DJ. I enjoy photography, pastel drawing and spending time among the trees in my hammock. I believe in every humans’ innate capacity for creativity, and that this creativity can be used to create a more just world.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am highly interested in humans, how we are shaped by our culture, and how we express and relate to each other. I have an academic background in psychology and anthropology, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in both subjects. This helped me develop a high level of organizational skills, along with communication and attention to detail. I have a variety of work experience, including nannying, landscaping/gardening, house cleaning, community dance facilitation, and teaching music classes to young families. My childcare work has developed my patience, flexibility and problem-solving skills. My work facilitating both dance and music classes has nurtured my ability to plan, lead and think creatively on my feet. I would be excellent in helping with childcare, creative projects, gardening, cleaning, or cooking, and am always eager to learn new skills as well.

My hope for this trip is to immerse myself in Greek cultures and customs, and to create relationships with its people and land. Although I have many years of experience in landscaping and gardening, I would love to learn more sustainable and reciprocal farming and gardening practices. I would also love to be involved in any creative projects, and I would love to learn more skills in creative craftsmanship, including pottery, woodworking, beading, textiles etc. I am always grateful to spend time working among nature.
