Hi there!

We are Nina (27) and Liam (30), a couple from northern England. We met 10 years ago and we have been together ever since, so we know a thing or two about commitment and putting the effort in to make something work - transferable skills and all that.

Our first backpacking trip was inconveniently timed during 2020 and cut short due to Covid, however we always knew we would be back.

We have travelled around South East Asia, having already visited Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, and Indonesia. We then visited Australia and New Zealand, and we're back in the United Kingdom currently.

We have loved immersing ourselves in the culture of each country, trying new activities, learning new skills and making connections with locals and travellers alike. We love to be in nature - exploring new landscapes whether by trekking, snorkelling, swimming or driving around on scooters - but we're just as happy chilling with a few games of pool and a beer.

More about us:

Nina: I grew up with creative and free spirited parents who have always encouraged me to travel and learn more about the world. I love the outdoors, hiking and swimming, snorkelling, reading in the sun (something we're lacking in Northern England) exploring new cultures and making new connections. I have an intense love for all animals, especially cats who have a special place in my heart, making it very hard when I have to leave the stray I have adopted at each accommodation. I have a passion for staying active, whether that's outside hiking, in the gym doing weights or kickboxing, or on a yoga mat. I'm currently travelling with a Nikon D7100 camera with a wide to zoom lens, and I am enjoying the learning process and hoping to delve into this more. I graduated the University of Manchester with an English Literature degree and have been working in Ecommerce and Marketing since. I'm super eager, empathetic, passionate and motivated, and I'm looking forward to learning new skills and getting stuck in.

Liam: Growing up I was always taught to put my all into anything that I am doing and as my Nana said to me - to make sure any room I enter a better place just by being there. I always carried these words and am an exceptionally positive person, even when the going gets tough. Will have a go at literally anything that I am asked to do, and have always been told by my employers that my desire to try anything new is something to be admired as I will always try to assist or do something extra just to make anything I am part of a success. I am a massive sports fan & try my hand at as many as my time allows, I love playing golf, football, badminton, pool, swimming just to name a few! Nina and myself are avid music fans, between us I think we have attended around 50 music festivals (we actually met at Leeds festival in 2014!) and I couldn't even count up the number of concerts that we have been during our relationship.

We are both interested in teaching English, as fluent speakers and with Nina's degree in English Literature and Liam's experience in a language school we're confident we can be an asset in this regard. We are both also happy and eager to learn the language of our hosts.

- Marketing & Ecommerce: Designing and maintaining Wordpress and Shopify websites, email marketing using MailChimp and Klaviyo, copywriting, paid ads using Meta, design using Canva, social media content
- Admin, customer service and complaints escalation
- Cocktail and bartending work
- Food preparation, cleanliness and customer service at McDonalds
- Beginner photography with a professional Nikon D7100 camera
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Hardworking and driven

Liam:
- Level 3 business apprentice
- Events planning & ticketing
- Copywriting and website updates/page building
- Bar work and waiter
- Worked at garden centre for 2 years
- Plenty of experience with Excel & other Microsoft programmes
- Fast paced administration
- Customer service (10 years)

Autres infos...

We're really eager to extend our travels with Workaway and experience more meaningful opportunities where we can learn new skills, go outside of our comfort zone and gain a stronger sense of purpose. Experiencing a place with locals and learning from them whilst imparting our own knowledge is something we believe is invaluable, and we can't wait to make genuine connections along the way.

As well as the hobbies previously mentioned, we'd love to join you for a game of badminton or cards, and we would never shy away from a good karaoke session (as long as you don't mind Nina's lack of singing talent - although her commitment and passion are in abundance!)
