I'm looking for an NGO where I can support locals in educating children, do social work support for families or help in building houses whilst getting immersed in the local culture.

Description

I recently finished my studies in psychology in Salzburg, Austria. I am passionate about my study subject and it brought me insights into how people think and why they act the way they do. Taking over the perspective of others and being able to be empathetic and taking into accont what motivates people is really an enrichment. I love being in the nature and going hiking on a nearby mountain in Salzburg and playing volleyball. I'm an open-minded person and I love working with people. During my last months in Salzburg I worked in child care and as care worker in a youth centre. Over the last years I got really invested in socio-political issues and I am passionate about issues concerning gender and social equality.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I just graduated uni and can call myself a psychologist now. Therefore I'm compassionate about other people, their life stories and why they are the way they are. I've been working with children and adolescents for a few months and watching over them as well as playing games and trying to settling disputes. One year ago I joined a mentoring program for socially disadvantaged children. Since then I've been meeting up with a 16 year old girl at least once a week and we spend our free time together or I help her with school work. This week she wants me to show her how to ride a bike.
I would also describe myself as a handy person as I love to do DIY projects such as upcycling furniture or handicraft work, as well as reparining garments with a sewing machine. I enjoy working with my hands in the garden and taking care of plants as well as assembling furniture, painting walls and things like that. I love doing sports such as volleyball, football and hiking. I love cooking and I've also worked as a waitress in a restaurant. I also was a member in the sustainability team in university and we organised several events for cleaning up trash or clothing swap parties and producing organic and sustainable cosmetics...
For the last three semesters I've been taking spanish lessions and I'd say my language level is somewhere between A2 and B1. Me gustan idiomas differentes y me gustaría practicar mi español.

I love just sitting together with other people and having conversations or playing board or card games together. I enjoy activating games such as activity but also card games like 'Durak', 'Doppelkopf' and board games like 'Backgammon'.
