Hello.

I'm Brian, a 40-year-old American whose life is a mix of service, adventure and quiet contemplation. I love travel (of course), walking barefoot in the wilderness, as well as reading, writing, and meditating. I am easy going, intelligent, have a good sense of humor, a good work ethic, and a creative, artistic temperament.

Without question my life centers around spiritual understanding and spiritual service. Until recently I lived and worked at a Yoga Retreat in rural Michigan, USA and am now in a period of exploration; although I do have a part time gig offering a podcast of guided meditations, talks and discussions concerning what I consider the essential aspect of a human life: spiritual awakening (see mysticalmessenger.com).

As my life is dedicated to spiritual awakening and service - which is another way of saying, "to Truth and Love" - I am most interested in a work exchange opportunity somewhere that shares my spiritual ideals to some degree. As a lover of nature and connoisseur of silence, I would cherish the opportunity to immerse in a place of natural wildness and beauty. But it is certainly my pleasure to serve, and I am happy to give myself fully wherever the divine wishes to place me.

In the long run I would love to learn more languages (especially Spanish and French), and not be the token American who only knows English. My French is nonexistent, and my Spanish is pretty poor. But I am good with the English language and would be happy to teach it, if that is desired.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I've led a pretty diverse life that's included farming and ranching along side writing, editing, media production, community organizing and nonprofit management. Perhaps my best or most natural skill is as a communicator (specifically writing) but I am very happy working with my hands, and prefer to be outside rather than indoors. I spent a summer on a potato farm, helped out at my last job with an organic garden, and lived and worked for four years on a cattle ranch, so I know a little something about working the land; although I hasten to add that it's all pretty soft skills and I'm not liable to build you anything new or tell the difference between Swiss chard and rainbow kale :) In general I am a fast learner who takes direction well, works good on my own or with others, and will do whatever you tell me to do to the best of my ability, with as much conscious attention and presence as I am able. I love animals and am good with pets (dogs especially) and though I don't have a ton of experience with kids, I am good with kids also. It's fun to be silly and playful and re-connect with that sense of childlike wonder, methinks. I am generally considered the fun uncle :)

God Brahman Allah Buddha Truth Self Love ... whatever word you give to the primary consciousness that is the source, substance and essence of all experience - this is what I am most interested in. Luckily, this encompasses every aspect of human experience, so there is plenty of room for beauty and laughter and joy and play, for music and sports and games and art - and I am generally a go-with-the-flow-up-for-whatever kind of guy - but my passion lies in the most direct contact with Divine Essence, such as meditation, prayer, contemplation, and deep discussion of Ultimate Reality.
