Hello workawayers full of love for nature . Here is an opportunity to experience autumn and winter in the Hautes Corbieres.
URGENT ! I need all sorts of help in the garden.
I can accommodate one person at the time. To be able to do some work and to introduce you to the Corbieres a staying of 5 days up to 2 weeks or more is best.
A shorter stay is ok during high summer.
If you can install a dry toilet in the garden and do some other simple woodwork that would be great . Also there is some sanding and painting left to do on windowshutters and terras and 2 garden shelters.
I fell in love with this spot where I live since october 2016 : A big garden with a sunny house on a hill facing the medieval little village LANET in the 'Hautes Corbières', département 11.
This region is full of hills and woods and few people, who therefore have to organize themselves well. And they do. Lots of social life, little markets, cultural activities, spiritual and ecological awareness,... The biodiversity here is stunning. If you love nature you will love it here. Most workaways day I am living in a paradise. I feel /think so too.
I live off the D221 direction Montjoi and the 'Gorges de l'Orbieu'. The place you want to be all year by and in this invigorating river. My land (8000 m2) reaches from a brook to almost the top of a hill. The house in the lower part is surrounded by a botanical garden, a vegetable perma culture garden and a wild garden. There is always something to do in all the gardens ; especially in march, april and may. In the house I would like to insulate the attics with ecological materials. That will be something for the fall or winter. Meanwhile it would like re -organize the attics and take out what needs to be recycled. It would be much easier en more pleasant to do this together.
Working hours : 3/4 in the morning, 5/6 days/week
I will provide and cook most of the meals or we can do it together. Free wifi that can be switched on and off easily. Looking forward to share some time with you.
It is best to apply not sooner then 2 months and not later then 10 days in advance.

I speak Dutch , French and English, you could practice any of those languages with me but also with the people in the village who are from various origins and therefore open to contact. You could go visit local small businesses and farmers. Lots of local festivities are going on and not only in the summer. This area is particularly orientated to ecology, spiritual life, music and well being.

You will have your own room with a big bed in the house. We will share a bathroom. That is if there is only one of you.

There are busses for 1 euro bringing you to towns like QUILLAN, LIMOUX and CARCASSONNE.
Coming from BARCELONA is cheap and easy : You take a train to PERPIGNAN (7 euros) and a bus to QUILLAN (1 euro) where I can come and catch you.

My task there was to do some woodwork: restoring a bench, a table, and a few chairs — mostly sanding them. I wanted to match how well I was treated by Regine, but that wasn’t easy, because she was incredibly kind and generous: she gave me a lovely room with a comfortable bed, cooked delicious meals… read more
As we had a lot of rain during her stay we have not been able to work in the garden. But I was thrilled that Milli took on the painting and the sewing jobs that were left inside the house. She did great . Also she took many initiatives to do the washing up or sweep the floor without me asking even. She seems to be… read more

His stories about Venezuela were he grew up made my dreamtravel.
I hope he will come back for a longer stay.
And what’s more she has been great and interesting company. I much enjoyed sharing some of the many walks in my neighborhood.
She lives in a beautiful area with lots of great people and have show me so much. The community here is very strong, yet everyone is super open-minded.
