Hello dear workaway community!
We are Timon and Monique - two mid-twenty friends from Germany who are currently looking for opportunities this summer (for now June/July) to make ourselves useful while having interesting exchanges, meeting people, learning new skills and spending time in nature.

This is the first time that we are trying out workaway but we have both worked and travelled a fair bit abroad. We bring a positive spirit, motivation to contribute to projects, curiousity and open-mindedness - and with that we are excited to meet you soon!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We can of course help with any household tasks (such as cooking and cleaning) and both have some basic skills in gardening and maintenance (planting, watering, weeding, painting, cutting wood, etc.) - and are quite confident that we can expand these with some guidance and help :)

Monique: I have done a variety of jobs and gained experiences in working with children (individually through babysitting but also with small groups as I was working in a treetop climbing center for multiple seasons) as well as in hospitality and tourism (worked in a cafe and hotel while I was studying). Above that, I love being with and taking care of animals (I grew up mainly with dogs and cats but could definitely see myself working with other animals as well). I also really enjoy cooking and I am always happy to contribute to meals and/or learning new recipes.

Timon: I have gained experience in both outdoor and service-oriented roles. In Australia, I worked on a lettuce farm where I helped with planting, harvesting, washing, and processing. While I was studying, I also tutored children, which I really enjoyed and found rewarding. I have experience in hospitality and tourism as well, including working in a fine dining restaurant in Sydney, which taught me a lot about customer service and working in a fast-paced environment. Recently, I volunteered for a couple of weeks in a community where I helped with bike repairs, weeding, mulching, making terra preta, and also with cooking and cleaning.
