Hello!
I’m currently travelling around Europe in a self converted van and looking to work on community focused permaculture or natural building projects.
I'm a classic jack of all trades, having worked in many industries but never settled in one. I grew up in rural south west England, where I spent a lot of time helping my parents maintain their house and garden, which involved a great deal of gardening (I hope we will be unified by a common hatred of brambles), as well as building and carpentry. Since then I've worked in a multitude of roles in a more urban environment, from working as a chef to managing a venue. I love a new challenge, and the feeling that comes with finishing a day's work and realising you've learned a new skill.
I feel as though hard work is often misunderstood, tainted by the idea of working for money instead of for the rewards of work itself. Having lived in London for the last ten years and been immersed in the hospitality industry, I feel as though I’ve lost touch with this a little, and with a few of the other simpler rewards in life. I’m hoping to get back to nature and learn about sustainable building methods, potentially moving back to the south west at some point in the future to work on my own permaculture project.
Work aside, I’d consider myself easy going and friendly. I’d describe myself as liberal and environmentally conscious, and I try to have a minimal impact on the planet. I sometimes eat meat but am more than happy to adjust my diet to match my host. I’m a keen fan of music (I have an active electronic music project that releases music), reading and yoga - although you'd never guess the last one from my flexibility...
