Description
I'm a very fit 53 yr old. I have many skills and can turn my hand to most things. I qualified as a landscape gardener in the mid 90s and spent ten years living and working in London. I have a reasonable knowledge of soft landscaping, but have also gained skills working in property maintenance - basic to semi-skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrics etc. In 2019, I built a flat extension. In my youth, I trained as a mechanic and still maintain all my own vehicles. If you have an older vehicle, I have a wealth of experience, particularly with Alfas, Peugeots and Renaults, having owned many of these vehicles.
I have a dry sense of humour, curious about anything and everything and have many interests, including travel, writing, books, music, film, R4 and 6Music, anything mechanical, gardening, cooking, hiking, camping, getting out in nature and lots more! In the last few years, I've ridden a motorbike the length of Vietnam, walked and cycled the Camino in Spain and spent summers travelling round Europe in my van. Last summer I was at Tokyo 2020, working as a driver at the Olympics ferrying a Texan TV crew around. What a country - what an experience!

I can turn my hand to most things - Qualified landscaper and gardener; general building skills - carpentry, plumbing, electrics; vehicle repair and maintenance; computer literate; cooking. I've pretty much fixed most things - If something doesn't work, I always take it apart to find out why!

I love food and cooking, nature, all types of music... I'm a huge film fan and love cultural events - festivals, live music etc. I have many interests, I couldn't mention them all here! My English is as good as my Italian is bad, so I'd be more than happy to help anyone with their English speaking. Or you could help me improve my Italian.

It was great having Mauro with us! He only stayed a week with us, during which time he helped us hugely in getting our soon-to-be holiday rental accommodation ready for business. He helped with tiling the kitchen/lounge area: preparing the floor, cutting tiles and plinths and the tiling itself.

Margaret and Stuart are great hosts. Easy going and relaxed, they really make you feel at home. Margaret is a great cook and there is always plenty of food. They have an eclectic mix of friends and always include you in their social activities. They are both kind, empathic, interesting and amusing - a credit to workaway!

Mauro is a grafter, he took my garden from an overgrown mess to a tidy well kept garden, he dug over my veggie patch and planted many seeds, all we need now is some sun to get it all going.
He took Max my dog on many a walk.
He was only with me for a week but he achieved a lot in that week.
I wish him well on his travels
