Hey there!
We are Janka and Matej: two best friends, travelers, students and curious souls eager to explore the world, learn new languages, and connect with awesome people along the way:)
A little about us:
Janka: I’m an extrovert who thrives on deep conversations, meeting new faces, and discovering new places. I’m a third year pedagogy student, so you’ll often find me reading, watching historical documentaries, or getting overly excited talking about my favorite historical figures, future ideas, and Formula 1 (Team Ferrari all the way!). In my free time you can find me socializing or watching reality shows. 🫶
Matej: I’ve been playing the piano since I was a kid and have a huge passion for art, music, and writing. I love exploring new spots, chatting with people, and bringing ideas to life-I even used to help organize events at our school! I’m a med student, so in case of emergency, you know who to call. Hopefully you won’t need to though! When I’m not studying for my exams, I’m usually trying to find cheapest flights to places around the world I haven’t seen yet.😄
Why host us? We’re adaptable, proactive, and super easy-going team players. Whether it's helping out around the place, organizing things, or sharing a good story over dinner, we bring great energy and a big smile.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Both of us are university students. Matej is in his 3rd year of medical school, and Janka is completing her Bachelor's degree in Education (specializing in History and Civics). We are fluent in English and have also studied German for 8 years in school.
We already had our very first Workaway experience in Denmark, and it was absolutely amazing! We helped out with everything from housekeeping, serving ice cream, and working as a barista/kitchen help to customer service.
Besides that, we’ve gathered plenty of practical experience over the years. One summer, we worked as information guides at the National Museum in Prague. We worked in different hotels in Austria for two summers helping with housekeeping and the kitchen. We’ve both worked in restaurant service and kitchen support before. So whether it’s cleaning, organizing, or helping around the house, we’re definitely not afraid of hard work! We joke that we could open our own business at this point. :D
Because we both grew up in the countryside, we are used to rural life and manual work: whether it’s working in the garden, helping with wood, or general maintenance, we are never afraid to roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty. We are fast learners and genuinely love trying out new things!
We also participated in Erasmus+ projects in France and Italy and completed the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), which helped us grow, build soft skills, and adapt to new challenges. -
