Description
Hi! I’m Maasa from Japan 🇯🇵
I’ve been living in Ireland since October 2025 on a Working Holiday Visa, where I’ve been learning English and enjoying the experience of living abroad and discovering a different culture.
Currently, I work at a local café in Ireland, and I also work as a childminder, looking after children aged 4–9 from three different families. In addition, I’m a member of a Japanese educational NPO, where I support students who are interested in studying and experiencing life abroad. Before coming to Ireland, I worked for a company in Japan for two and a half years.
I’ve always felt very close to nature, animals and farming. My father and grandmother have grown vegetables in their gardens since I was little, and my mother works with a dog breeder. We also have four dogs at my family home in Japan, so I’m very comfortable around animals and genuinely enjoy looking after them. I’d also love to learn more about farming and sustainable ways of living.
In my free time, I love photography, taking my camera outside, spending time in nature, cooking, and simply enjoying a peaceful and happy life. 📷🌿
At the moment, I live with an Irish host family, and one of my favourite parts of living abroad has been sharing our cultures with each other. They teach me about Irish life and culture, and I enjoy sharing Japanese culture with them. Living together has made me realise how much I enjoy being part of a family and community, rather than simply travelling as a tourist.
My father is a sushi chef, so Japanese food has always been a big part of my life! 🍣 I love cooking and sharing Japanese food and culture with others. If I have the opportunity to stay with you, I’d be very happy to cook some Japanese dishes and share a little piece of Japan with you.
I’m open-minded, positive and always curious to learn something new. I’m not afraid of getting my hands dirty, and I’d be happy to help with farming, gardening, animals, cooking, childcare or whatever is needed.
For me, Workaway is not only about finding a place to stay — I’d love to experience your way of life, learn new skills, spend time in nature, and hopefully create some lovely memories together! 🌱 -

Autres infos...
In my free time, I love running, photography and spending time in nature. I especially enjoy going for a run or a walk somewhere beautiful with my camera, exploring new places and enjoying the little things in everyday life. 🌿📷🏃♀️
I’m also very interested in different cultures and ways of living. One of the reasons I decided to live abroad was to meet people from different backgrounds, learn about their traditions and lifestyles, and share my own culture too.
I love having conversations over coffee or food, cooking together, exploring local places and learning new things from people. I’d also be very happy to share Japanese cooking, language and culture with you! 🇯🇵🍣
I’m quite active and curious, but I also really enjoy peaceful time in nature. I’d love my Workaway experience to be not only about helping, but also about becoming part of your everyday life and exchanging cultures with each other. 😊 -

She was a very happy girl and socially active.
We were very very happy to have her here and can easily recommend her.
This was my first time using Workaway, so honestly, I didn’t expect to have such a wonderful experience!
