Description

I'm Marta (27). I'm from Spain but it's been a while since I don't live there. Right now I'm volunteering while exploring the concepts of social justice, migration, and human rights. I'd like to start working on these topics from different social perspectives, and add some creativity to this process while still travelling, connecting with different people and bringing a different kind of value to society.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Empathy and kindness are probably my main qualities, but as everyone does, I can also have bad days!

I have experience in taking care of animals, especially cats (I used to help in the cat shelter founded by my family back home, and work taking care of a house with 30 cats!). Also in working with kids, although right now I'm not seeking to further explore that side.

I also have short experience in the cleaning and management of guesthouses, but what I enjoy the most is the hospitality aspect of this: being welcoming and connecting with others fills my heart with joy! Also, I have some construction knowledge, because of working in the countryside during the summers.

I'd say my photography skills are pretty decent, and I'm handy and feel at ease when using tools and crafting. Right now, I'm teaching myself to repair phones and I'm quite excited about this journey :).

Lastly, I learn languages with ease. Since last October, I've been volunteering offering support to displaced communities, which has allowed me to practice and learn many different languages in my everyday life. In this position, I've improved both my organisational and social skills.

I have a background in science and nature conservation. I try to defend sustainability in my everyday practices, from reducing consumption to favouring repairing, supporting socially and environmentally responsible producers... and I'm always interested in exploring these topics more.
