Description

Hi, my name is Marianne! I'm originally from Montreal, Canada, but I lived in London for 7 years. I quit my job at the end of October 2023 to explore the world and make new memories,

I particularly enjoy being outdoors, hiking, kayaking, cycling, and love animals. While in London, I volunteered in a farm in the city centre and did dog sitting alongside my fulltime job.

Richard and I have been travelling together for a year now and Workaways have been the absolute highlights. We had the chance to work with incredible families, businesses and organisations, helping with a whole range of different projects like a dog hospital, horse farm, an eco retreat, building cabins etc. Through this, we made lifelong friends and learned some valuable skills that we're keen to bring to the next adventure!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a degree in international relations and have been working for the last 4 years in customer success in tech companies where I gained a lot of customer service experience.

Prior to starting working full time, I worked for 5 years in summer camps in Canada, looking after children, putting together activity programmes, leading expeditions etc. We had limited resources at the camp so had to be creative to make things work with what we had!

I'm fluent in English and French and speak some Spanish but would love to improve. I would be very happy to do a language exchange or help with English or French if needed.

I have done a lot of volunteering over the years with children, elderly people and animals. I currently volunteer at an inner-city farm in London which consists of animal care, creating and animating activities for children and doing manual work around the farm. I also do a lot of dog-sitting on the side as I love animals!

I'm very excited to learn new skills on workaways like building, DIY skills and improving my cooking. :)
