Hi there! I'm a 22-year-old from the US, but I'm spending as much time as I can traveling Europe and the UK after graduating from university. I received a degree in magazine journalism, and I will be freelancing for various magazines during my time traveling. I also have my own website and social media account to document my travels (but will never post names, specific locations, or photos of anyone I stay with). I love reading (romance is my favorite genre) and re-watching my favorite shows and movies (Bridgerton, Gilmore Girls, Pride and Prejudice 2005). I'm a big fan of playing board games and card games with my friends and family, and am always open to learning new ones! I've also taken up crocheting in the past few years, but don't plan on bringing my supplies abroad (gotta save space!). I'm very close to my parents, and even closer to my sister. She's two years older than me and is finishing up her time in Senegal with the Peace Corps. I'm looking forward to meeting new people during my time in Europe and the UK!

I have a minor in French from university, and consider myself near-fluent. I can hold a conversation easily, but could also teach beginners. I am very interested in learning new languages as well, and plan to during my time traveling.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm a classically trained journalist, and I'm great at meeting people and asking questions to gain necessary insight and information. I'm also a very curious person by nature. I had internships with a few magazines while at university, including at Better Homes & Gardens.

In high school, and a few times when I was home in college, I babysat for quite a few families. I have experience prepping kids for bed, playing outside, getting creative with activities to do inside if the weather is dreary, etc. I've been to a few classes to learn more about caring for young kids as well. My favorite part of caring for children is reading bedtime stories and exercising creativity when we play make-believe (keeps me young).

I like to cook and bake. I picked up my mom's habit of collecting cookbooks and trying new recipes all the time. I LOVE all things pasta, but soup is my go-to because of how quick and easy it can be. When I have more time to experiment and plan for meals, I find recipes to use up what I have in the fridge or pantry already and do my best to make multiple meals out of similar ingredients to save money.

I have helped my parents in the garden, growing and harvesting beans, cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, and much more. I know how to clean the whole house (and do it often, I like keeping my space clean), I do laundry, I'm organized, and I've even helped my parents with some basic landscaping. I've never had my own pet, but I've wanted a dog my entire life. However, I have helped my friends take care of their dogs and cats and even rescued a dog for a night before finding her owner the next evening.

I'm an experienced traveler, an adventurous spirit, and LOVE trying new things. New recipes, new places, meeting new people, new activities, and just learning new things overall. I am a hands-on learner, but I learn very quickly once I get going.

I love working with my hands, learning new hobbies, and doing crafts. I like most card and board games; there are honestly too many to list, but if you or your family likes to play games, invite me along! Part of the reason I landed on journalism as my career is that I'm interested in so many things. As I mentioned before, I'm a curious person, so I get deep into research when there's something new I should (or want to) get more information about.
