Hi! I’m Dasha, a curious soul and a traveler at heart :)

I’m Russian and when the war began I had to leave. It was a difficult but necessary decision. I’ve always believed in peace, connection, and mutual respect, and I knew I wanted to build a life aligned with those values. That’s how I found my way to Uruguay - a calm, open-minded, and democratic country that has become my base while I continue to explore the world.

I recently came back from my first big motorcycle journey across South America. Over five months, I rode nearly 20,000 kilometers and visited Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Brasil, it was one of the most intense, beautiful, and unforgettable experiences of my life. I completely fell in love with this continent, its people, landscapes, cultures, and energy. Now I’d love to continue exploring South America, but at a bit more relaxed pace this time, haha.

What I love most is discovering how people live, their homes, their daily routines, their stories. I enjoy slow travel, getting to know places deeply, and connecting with the soul of each community I visit.

One of my long-term dreams is to learn how to build houses, especially simple, natural homes that respect nature and bring people together. That’s one of the reasons I’m so excited about Workaway, it’s a beautiful way to share skills, learn by doing, and connect through meaningful exchange.

This is not my first volunteering experience, a few years ago I had the chance to take care of a house in Bali. It was a beautiful time, and I’m still in touch with some of the wonderful people I met there. That experience really showed me how powerful and joyful these kinds of connections can be.

I’ve also been learning Spanish for the past year and I’m always happy to practice! I’m not fluent yet, but I understand a lot and keep improving every day, so if you speak Spanish, please feel free to speak with me in your language :)

I’m easy-going, respectful, and open-minded. Im looking for a chance to help you with your house, I can also help with everyday tasks, animals, gardening, creative projects (like photography or video), or just share good conversations and positive energy. I’ve worked online for the last few years in creative fields and I love yoga, hiking, nature, and learning new things.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

1. House building & natural construction (learning) – One of my biggest goals is to learn how to build houses, especially simple, natural, sustainable homes. I’m not experienced yet, but I’m highly motivated, curious, and physically ready to help with any step of the process. I’d love to assist with construction, carpentry, earth building, or anything hands-on and educational.

2. Physical active & strong – I’m in good physical shape, used to walking long distances, lifting, cleaning, and working outdoors. I just finished a five-month motorcycle trip through South America, so I’m definitely not afraid of effort, dirt, or a little challenge!

3. General help – I’m happy to help with everyday chores, cleaning, animal care, gardening, painting, organizing, cooking simple meals, and other daily tasks. I’m not picky and always try to bring a positive and easy-going attitude to the work.

4. Creative skills – I’ve volunteered in content creation for several years (photo/video, social media, storytelling) and can help with filming, editing, writing, or documenting projects. I also enjoy creating visual content that shows the beauty of people and places.

5. Language – I speak fluent English, Russian, and have been learning Spanish for about a year. I’m happy to practice and improve, and I love being surrounded by different languages and cultures.

I love trying new food wherever I go, it’s one of my favorite parts of traveling! I’d also be very happy to learn how to cook local dishes and help in the kitchen.

Another thing I enjoy is running, it clears my mind and helps me connect with the places I visit. One of my fun personal goals is to go for a run in every country I travel through 🏃‍♀️🌍
